The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Yay! She came back! I knew she would…

Im going to pop on when I can. I promise...
We’ll have to start calling you OlderMomFairy! Only comes when we’re in trouble or we click our heals or something…glad to see you dear! Hope everything is going well!

Supposed to be sunny and 70 today. Instead it’s cloudy and 56 😠. Still going fishing though. it’s my last chance before I’m gang pressed into nurse duty (I will do this lovingly and dutifully) and oh joy, I was just informed yesterday I have another CT Scan that was scheduled last Dec that I’ve promptly forgotten about! More docs…more paper work but hopefully a clean bill of health.

How bout some more spring Santa Fe MZ?

What do you drive?

Nosy curiosity.

What is everyone's Daily Driver?

Mine is a 2015 Ram 1500 4x4 quadcab with a Hemi and pretty much bone stock. It has 117Potassium miles.
I bought my first non American car last year and I haveta admit I like it. It’s a 2024 Hyundai Tucson hybrid. My daily driver.

I gave my old ford fusion to my daughter.

Also have a 2014 Ford F150 and a 1970 Torino.

Ugh…that’s right…we lose an hour back to the gods tonight…

Just pick a side people in power. I personally like Standard time. It fits more w my body clock heading into summer. Wife likes DST. We can’t agree on anything…
I prefer daylight time- more light in the evening, but I’ll settle for no change at all.

Same. My first was a Toyota Highlander, and I have to admit it’s been pretty bulletproof. After eight years the only problem is right rear window doesn’t roll down. Easy fix. Oh and the JBL sound system bass kicker rattles…but I suspect that’s from my wife and kids jamming out!

Yet. As we minimize, we come to be able to get by on less income. Part of the purpose of the current situation is to pay off the rest of Wat's I-Want-isms and as much land as possible and to save for the next land bits, and some tiny houses. And a shop. Then we get to grow some/most of our food, shop at the Amish veggie stand, can, buy a side of beef, and hunt a bit. Out West, if you hang around enough, a deer will wander past within 200 yards or so.
Here in New Jersey you can’t swing a dead deer without hitting another deer!

Neighbors took 16 of them offa our farm property this year….

We have planted hundreds of bulbs along the road side on our farm. It’s about 400 feet of yellow flowers in about three weeks.

I love it.

I’m also a big fanof forsythia. We got tons of that too. It’s easy to propagate. You literally just take cuttings a few inches long and stick them in the ground.

We have a bank at the road - actually, we have both sides of the road for a chunk of distance. Forsythia would be great, and lots of bulbs, too.

It's (kinda) on the To Do List (of Self Oppression) . . . .

The Landlady is thinking about a new RAV4 hybrid.

I made her promise to keep it cleaner than she usually does.

I'm thinking that between them and a side of beef from time to time that Out West will stay in meat from now until Kingdom Come Will Be Done. That and we're looking to trim back on meat consumption anyway.

Just make sure you plant a bunch of bulbs together. They don’t do well at all singularly so plant in clumps.

Same with Cynthia, they like to bramble so take a bunch of cuttings and put them all close together.

Hell, Mrs wonderer and I would love to come out and help you plant em.

Hell, you're welcome any old time.

She'd make sure we don't fuck it all up.

It is emptying your bucket to try to fill somebody else's

I tried it too.... but I could never do enough... so I stopped and now I have fewer relationships but better ones
Oh so much this. I learned "this is the way' as a child and only since 2018 have I started trying to focus on filling my bucket, and sharing with those around me in meaningful ways. Given I turn 55 in a couple weeks I have decades of habit to overcome. Every day I strive to be better than I was yesterday. Every day I find the places I slipped and learn what I can from them.

And coffee. Coffee every day.
