I'm glad they got out there!Sort of. The owner (they are all franchised) arrived around 5 this afternoon. She has some small talk with Mom and then I gave the tour of the house so she could identify any issues her team might have.
She is going to make another visit next week with one of the caregivers and introduce mom to them. This should help alleviate any anxiety mom might have.
Then I can get back on the road and start making an income. It's cutting it close to be sure.

That's AWESOME!Was delightful to make this work.
Loved meeting @Wonderer67 and @Mrswonderer. Momentous event - breakfast before 10amDelicious!
Quick tour of the local area then it was time for a train adventure down to the DC area. Will spend the last leg with family.
Already had 2 storytimes, 2 homework sessions, and a card trick session.
Triple fudge brownies were a hit for dessert. IYKYK
Be well, be happy... I'll check in as time allows and back to cafe upon return.
I'm glad you're working on a plan. Just a note, Medicaid generally does a 5 year look back. So it's best if you can get her property sorted out sooner rather than later.Trying to get my siblings together so we can put the land and house in a trust or corporation. She does not qualify for any sort of assistance because of the assets she has. Once I get back on the road I will be able to afford the set up fees.
When that's done, I can get her on Medicaid. She has a home care insurance policy that has been paying for her home care for about 6 years. She bought it a long time ago and it works like an annuity but is limited to home care for withdrawal. She's got less than $100k left in it. That works out to about 2 years. If I get started on this right now, she should be set up with Medicaid by the time it runs out along with any other assistance benefits she might need.
If all that falls thru, I'm gonna have to sell the property. All but prolly 20 acres immediately around the house and hope she never finds out.
She wants to be able to convalesce/hospice here like dad did all the way to the end, looking out the giant picture window from the hospital bed into the woods and the pond behind the house. He passed away doing that just after sunrise. He was being kept comfortable with morphine until the end.
It's a plan tho.
Welcome!Turning 54 next month. Hope everyone is ok with another lurker and part-time interactor.
Are you SURE you want to say that in Miss K's presence? She's called MISS K for a reason, you know! She needs supervision at the very least apparently.
Oh, darn it! I was hoping Miss K and I could find a pub when we visit @Greylag! Maybe he knows where the secret pubs are located! Not sure where you'd find a pub over there, tho.
Here's a map with every pub marked with a pin, just in case...

OMG......I AM A PRINCESS!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for that. On it!I'm glad you're working on a plan. Just a note, Medicaid generally does a 5 year look back. So it's best if you can get her property sorted out sooner rather than later.![]()
Hi @Wonderer67 thanks for the message.I mostly follow this diet, and I do intermittent fasting, which works pretty well for me.
Problem is, everything revolves around my meals and eating and I eat at 10-noon and then if I don’t eat at around 6 -630 PM, I get really hangry.
Sports nutritionists recommend getting high quality protein into your body within an hour of your match / workout.Good morning all.....
What's your feelings about eating before or after exercise?
I'm a low carb high proteins kind of guy but I've been stuck around my current weight for months.
Drink lots of water. Try to do some saline rinses in your nose. If nothing else, mix some salt in warm water. Put your fingers in it and sniff up the drops. Repeat as desired. It will help keep your mucous membranes moist and should help you feel better.Today I’m feeling better, thanks for asking. I got ahead of the strep throat we had in the office, but my sinuses are still going nuts.
I'm stealing your meme, BTW!![]()
If you think you have strep, see your provider for antibiotics.Strep? Is that what I have? Figures.
Can barely talk....ooooh, thats why the wife has been nicer the last two days.
That sounds idyllic! I love thunderstorms!Rain started just after the wind. It's a sepia day with a little thunder. Wish I could talk Mrs. Mitt into a lazy cuddle _ _ _ _ out in the sunroom listening to the rain fall on the roof.
I'm kind of a diy-er when it comes to that. I boil my own bandages, stitch my own wounds and make my own antibiotics and can them in mason jars to sell on the side of the road.If you think you have strep, see your provider for antibiotics.![]()
He was probably trying to figure out which was the lesser of the two evils!I used to keep a wee squirt bottle on the edge of the desk in case he came in to mess with the old cat. He did one night and I doused him and he only ran a short way back up the hall. I shot his butt and he hardly moved. So I got up to see.
Ethyl was sitting at the other end of the hall, and he didn't know what to do.
That was really funny.
This is awesome!Had a really nice day today. Took the day off.
Started with breakfast w @Mrswonderer and @likes2watchU who is on her marathon east coast tour. Then caught up and spent the afternoon with L2 before she resumed said east coast tour.
A nice visit with a fellow litster, greasy spoon patron and team librarian!
Sounds like a wonderful trip, Likes! Was delightful to make this work.
