David Johansen of The New York Dolls, Boris Spassky (chess player), and the Scottish painter, Jack Vettriano, too. It's been a rough few days.

I am honestly surprised David Johansen lived to 75. The Dolls lived hard.

Spassky passing though...the world will not see his like again. Notable as one of the few Champions who died completely sane. Honorable, honest, brilliant, and unfortunately best known for his most famous loss. Unfortunately, he came to his peak in an era of unparalleled chess geniuses (Tal, Fischer, Karpov), or his reign would have gone longer. (I had a part in Chess, the musical inspired by Spassky v. Fischer, way off Broadway -- I played Molokov).

Came back and had to take notes and use three different A.I.s to try to begin to kind of understand what's going on in here now. Something about Gilmore Girls meets Mardi Gras as hosted by Keith Richards.....that about it?
