We were in the same boat. We were nudists strictly at home.I think if I didn't know anyone and would never see anyone again there, I'd do it ! haha
My wife was really nervous, so we went to a resort while we were away on vacation where there was no chance of knowing anyone.
We do go to a local beach now occasionally. We were both nervous abt seeing someone might know or work with, but we decided they probably have the same concerns as us.
I think everyone else is just as nervous of being “found out” as we are.
One more thing - some places are more “clothing optional”. You may feel more comfortable in that environment.

On the other hand, if it's a "nudity required place" and you meet somebody you know there, they're in the same boat you are. So they have no cause to judge you on your lack of clothing. But if it's "clothing optional," they may be dressed while you are not... although you have to ask what they're doing there.

I've always looked at it this way. If I'm at a nude beach and I see someone I know then they are there too. So no need to be embarrassed.

W/we have been to a few nude optional beaches, She options that i am naked, She is not.
