We have a mixed bag crew including 3 Ukrainians and the usual smattering of gringos and Latinos. Language is an issue with the eastern Europeans.


We didn't have Ukrainian offered in school when I came along.

I've found most Ukranians I've worked with to be hard workers.

Wife said the daffodils are starting to come out in the sunny spot where the sun beats down.

I'm looking for my crocuses to start poking their heads up!

I felt similarly when the ex remarried and moved 800 miles away. It hurt like Hell for a couple of years. In hindsight, it would have been selfish of me to have Junior stay put as it would have cheated him out of the multitude of opportunities he's had since being there. I think that it all worked out as intended.


You and the missus seem very well suited to one another.

No matter how painful at the time, I think things work out the way they're supposed to. There's a plan... ️

Same! I had 3 screens at work. Now, at home, I have 2 24s connected to a docking station. I like my screen real estate!

My first computer had a CRT screen and 128 kb. I thought I was so uptown when I upgraded to 620 kb! I got it for my graduate program. Papers were printed on a dot matrix printer.

I recall a loaf of bread being $.17

The bread I make is probably less than a dollar a loaf. Bread is easy to make and tastes better than most store-bought bread. IMO

I will admit to being partial to Dave's Killer Bread.

I still recall my reaction when grandpa told me he recalled when candy bars cost a nickel. I believe my gripe then was the increase to a quarter.

So, I think I just realized that we can only follow 19 people. Is that right? When I made my follow list of course I started with the ones I liked the most and as I added on to it I guess those first few fell off after I got to 19 favorites. Or am I just not doing it right? Don't ask my first wife that question about me. I already know the answer.

I just went to dollar general and 2 people in front of me was one of our high class villagers ( not) asking if the medicine she was buying was good for yeast infections. And the woman in front of me was buying medicine for and I quote ( I feel like shit) as she touched and hacked all over everything.....

I got out the sanitizer and sanitized what she touched so i could touch it.... f:#>'#^< people

The weasels proclaimed themselves done and split. Water was off in one unit. Ceiling light was hanging by the wires in another unit and a plate was missing. There were 2 leaks.

City sewer is the bestest solution.


There are folks operating on a holding tank and a gray water drain.

We're in an unincorporated part of the county. The (medium sized) city closest to us wants to annex us. The city is not run well and we don't want to be part of it. If the city is successful, they will put in sewer. Part of my problem is that properties will be assessed by street frontage. My lot is pie-shaped. Guess where the large part of the pie is?
