American Bar Association Suspends DEI Requirements for Law Schools​

The American Bar Association has suspended law school diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) requirements.​

The ABA Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar voted during a meeting in San Antonio on Friday to end the requirement until August 31 while it reviews the policy.

The change comes as President Donald Trump has vowed to gut all government programs with DEI policies.

Daniel Thies, chair-elect of the council and co-chair of its Strategic Review Committee, told the ABA Journal that the changes were due to Trump’s executive orders.

“The committee’s view is that with the executive orders and the law being in flux, it would be an extreme hardship for law schools if our standards were to require them to do certain things that may cause them to take more litigation risks and potentially violate the law,” Thies said, according to the ABA Journal.

If "returning to normal" means, returning to Jim-Crow era segregation and racism from the 1940s/1950s then yes, alas; America is "Returning to Normal."

I'd like to think that in the 70-80 years since then, America has made some progress. It is sad to see that progress being reversed.

However, America always had a functioning government that did it's job to keep the country and it's infrastructure running. And it always had a fair set of checks and balances and protection of individual liberty against tyranny and oppression. By dismantling that, America is heading for being a 3rd world shithole country on par with Cuba or Haiti.

THAT is not, and never was, "Normal."

And the OP knows that, no matter how desperatly he prays for America's decline and reversal, because he clearly does.

America without DEI is not normal.

Obama was a return to normalcy after the madness of the W years. Biden was a return to normalcy after the chaos of the Trump years. America will never return to normal until we have a Democrat in the WH.

The tariffs are estimated to cost the Average American about $1300 usd per year and Canadians about $1900 cdn per year, which is about the same.

Both economies will almost certainly slow down and have a return to inflation, which sucks, because there was a biden recovery emerging in the usa with better growth than other g20 countries.
