I've been a visitor to the NE and beaches there, usually lakes and in wearing a speedo got alot of the same attention/comments etc in the 80's/90's...at the time though I was living in Fla, and had for many years...very different, nude beaches on both coast, one 10 minutes by boat from my house....topless was not unusual and privacy was the norm...no glares, stares, comments.... one reason being the European tourists

Nude beaches generally are not about getting turned on, as @jehoram points out. I would just like to add that I enjoy seeing all shapes and sizes of women naked, not just models and busty young women. That's what makes the Amateur pic forum on here so great.
