Voters Decided Democrats Are The Biggest Threat To Democracy
By: Robert Gagnon
November 12, 2024

The majority of Americans now see that the biggest threat to our republic is the Democratic Party that runs most of the country.

There was a continual drumbeat from the legacy media throughout the election cycle that former President Donald Trump was a grave threat to democracy. Yet exit polls on Election Day showed that this was a concern of a far larger percentage of voters (73 percent) than just those who voted for Harris (48 percent). Commentators on election night struggled with explaining why Harris lost. The answer was leftist extremism and totalitarianism. In short, as Shakespeare put it through the character of Cassius, “The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves.” Leftists are the great threat to democracy, not Trump.

They chose the most extreme politician to run for president, through an antidemocratic process of selection. She epitomized the two great idols of the Democratic Party, its raison d’être: unrestricted “reproductive freedom” (abortion) and coercive LGBTQ immorality. Harris in turn chose the most politically extreme running mate she could find, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

Leftists control most of the news media, social media (thank God for Elon Musk’s X), the academy of colleges and universities, the entertainment industry, Fortune 500 companies, and search engines. But that wasn’t enough control of the flow of information. No, they had to have more.

They had to push for further cancellation of free speech and “disinformation boards.” Harris, Walz, Hillary Clinton, and John Kerry all came out with threats to free speech. Schools have become one-sided indoctrination centers rather than centers of learning. “News” media from the left have become little more than thinly veiled propaganda organs of the Democrat Party. Their biased coverage of this election was shameful. They showed a lack of self-awareness that opinion was not news and left-wing ideology was not truth.

Yep, that's how it is.

So every time a Republican loses it's because they are a threat to democracy.

Yep, that's how it is.

Nah. They weren’t buying what the Dems were selling for a couple of reasons. 1) repubs are excellent at selling slogans, and 2) Dems suck at self promotion

trump told lies to gullible idiots who think he fulfill the promises he's been making
breaking for 9 years. He fed on their histrionic fears on a path to set us back decades.

Throughout the process the one thing the Democratic Party did prove was that is that democracy is a huge, ginormous threat to the party elites.

You people who support them need to declare: YOU'RE FIRED!!!

They lost you a sure thing. FIRST {minority} WOMAN President!

So, go ahead and vent and Trump. Go ahead and let them off of the hook. Go ahead and do it again.
It's not stupid. It's good, old-fashioned American determination.

Ad astra per aspera

"ABC News has plans to revamp The View in light of Donald Trump's commanding win in the 2024 election. ABC execs are said to be panicking over the fact that their roundtable features a collection of women who are uniformly aligned with Democrats despite the fact that Trump appears to have won the popular vote and won 46% of women voters, a 3% improvement over 2020. If 46% of women voted for Trump, maybe the view could find one woman to represent that perspective on the show?"

This did not take ABC by surprise unless they were caught up in their own liberal-bias bubble, so maybe they knew it all along but are ruled by Capitalism (and the Right) after all...

Hmmmmmm...

Only an idiot would say what you just did.
Harris is no more extreme than Clinton, Obama or Biden -- not at all -- a centrist DLC DINO.

Not even Sanders is extreme. He's quite vanilla by global standards -- which are the standards that matter.

Not one word of that makes any sense.

How? Nothing in this thread, including the OP., makes any case at all for the Democrats being a threat to democracy.

They subvert democracy even within their own ranks.

I bet they install another empty suit and you act like it's the 2nd coming of Christ and call it democracy!!!

Because it's a coup when Democrats don't win!!

What are you talking about? There was nothing irregular or illegitimate about Harris' nomination. Think about it -- if Biden, at that point in the process, having won all the primaries, had simply died, no one would suggest a second round of primaries was necessary. The delegates elected to vote for Biden at the nominating convention would simply no longer be so bound and would have to agree on somebody else. Which they did.

Didn't say it was either of those things.

I said it was undemocratic. She was an installed candidate.....that's undemocratic. And they paid the price for it.

Primary elections aren't in the Constitution or anything -- they're a 20th-Century innovation. Were party nominations before then "undemocratic"?

So?? So the fuck what?? What has any of that got to do with democracy?

Nothing.

Were party nominations before then "undemocratic"?

Which do you think LOOKS more democratic to the general public??

Having an election for who their candidate is or being told who their candidate is by the elites??

Which do you personally think is more democratic?? Elites installing a candidate or having an election??
