Hall Pass

Saw this idea and wanted put my spin on it.

Married couple with a 10 year history of being very happily married. Very active sex life. Flashback to a lazy day when they talked softly after a very loving session of sex in which the topic came up of who would be your one and only hall pass. They tell each other their secret crushes. One might be obtainable and the other a pipe dream.

Years later on a honeymoon cruise the wifes celebrity hall pass just happens to be the on board entertainment. She shyly reminds her husband of the hall pass pact they made back in their youth.

Of course the is husband reluctant for all kinds of reasons but eventually comes around and will look the other way and honor the hall pass but regardless of whether she succeeds or not, she will not only allow his hall pass but assist in making it a reality.

He points out that his was so very attainable all throughout their relationship and reveals that at one point in their marriage his hall pass person was actually trying to make it happen but for their own reasons. At the time he had no intention of holding her to something foolish couples promised in the afterglow of youthful coitus.

One of these hall passes is a success and one is not. One version of this story the marriage goes on to thrive and another version it becomes a dumpster fire.

I really like the twist here!

The wife scores with the huge celebrity through some clever unexpected contrivance, like he has a secret, uncontrollable fetish for doughy middle aged women with freckly shoulders, or something

And then the wife tries to help the husband score with his "attainable," hall pass, a mildly attractive lady from their church or something, and he crashes and burns miserably

MAYBE in the process of trying to make her husband's simple fantasy come true, the wife ends up being the one to hook up with the church lady

Personally I would much prefer the happy ending. There are no major hard feelings, maybe the story ends with a flash-forward to when they're older, still happily married, recounting their hall pass debacle as a funny anecdote? Maybe they're recounting the story to someone else in their life, who turns out to be their shared second-choice hall pass!

They do talk about who they have crush on, happily married, you do chat in bed,or role play or discuss fantasies, they trust each other and have fun talking
Her fantasy hall pass is there, she acts on it, cause the husband has to agree otherwise he would look bad, his hall pass is a no starter but hers is a success obviously, there 2nd honeymoon cruideis a disaster for him, his wife openly sleeping with her crush, he flaunts the fact its another mans wife
In an ideal world they live happily ever after but in reality there marriage never the same

As a guy I, of course, didn't see it going those ways. But, of course, it totally could and I see how those twists would absolutely pull the reader in. I like them both.

I like the idea that early on, when they are playing around and mention their passes the wife mentions someone attainable, perhaps a local celebrity, such as a college athlete, news anchor etc. The husband's pick is someone non-attainable like a major actor or singer.

The wife at some point meets her pass and as they get to know each other mentions that he is her pass, then things go on from there. The husband, never meets his and the story goes on from there.

Perhaps his wifes crush is sympathetic to the fellows situation. Because it's one thing to pick a local college athlete and another to pick a hot TV or movie star. The levels of approachability are miles apart.

So to the couples surprise, the young athlete shows up on the night of the date with his beautiful fiance. He says that he felt bad for the husband and says that his fiance would be delighted to spend the evening with him. She's not the actress he picked but she's every bit as beautiful.

With the twenty-two year old running back ready to take her out, his wife can hardly complain, and readily agrees with the arrangement.

This works, because for a decent part of the story the reader will just believe this will be just another cuck story. But it's not because the athletes wife has always had an older man fixation and she's very attracted to the husband. I'd maybe even go interracial here, with the athlete and his wife being black. Mature white couple, young black couple.

At the end of the evening it's a night neither couple will ever forget.
