YES!!! All of that is so perfectly true for me as well.

As a kid, I would play songs for people because it stated (to me) what I was trying convey so perfectly.... they didn't get, just thought I was weird. I finally realized, not everyone years what I'm hearing in the music.

It did backfire once on me pretty funny. Listening to my new cassette in my car with my then girlfriend and a couple of her close friends and the song comes on "I Love you honey but I hate your friends". It struck me as funny (and I didn't hate them at all).... they didn't see the humor in that.
