The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Thanks Lili and Miss K for the advice!

UPDATE- took Momma to a drive through c19/flu/RVM RSM? Whatever it’s called and she has the flu. That seems to be the good news. Mucinex DM and Tamiflu…she’s sounding better already.

Granddaughter. Her fever spiked to 105 yesterday. Took her to the ER, and they got her heading south to 102…Tylenol and something else. So on top of her C-diff she has the flu. I was shepherding mom around so only getting bits and pieces on the phone. She’s has been on anti-b’s for a week or two for this C-diff thing.

The funny thing is the kids are blaming momma for giving it to her and momma is blaming the baby for her catching it!🤣. The clown show never ends! Her and the baby are inseparable so who knows what the truth is. I will pass along the dishes and clothes and glove routine.

Thanks again ladies for your expert advice! 😘😍😻

Since my Key West pics broke the spell of winter around these parts, and It seems I have the power of the Groundhog, I’m moving on to Bavarian Spring Pics to trump the furry rodent and bring on spring sooner! That ground pigs prediction be damned! 😂

Poor baby!

There are lots of ways of transmission of c-diff. As @Missk_2022 said, the spores are hard to kill. They can also lay dormant for long periods of time. They are in soil. Some people are silent carriers. Some infants have c-diff in their colon asymptomatically.

Infection can spread by direct fecal-oral route. It can live in the take-out food that was prepared by someone who didn't wash his/her hands well. It can be picked up by touching spores in dirt or on surfaces. It can also be aerosolized.

It's important for anyone changing a baby's diaper to wash their hands immediately after. Putting the lid down on the toilet before flushing helps to keep pathogens from being aerosolized. Studies have shown that fecal particals can be flung as far as 6 ft away from the toilet when flushing. 😱

Casting blame at this time isn't productive. If grama doesn't have c-diff, it's unlikely she gave it to baby. The important thing now is to ensure baby's care so she gets well. 🫂🫂

Busy a few days.

Coming home from work last night I don’t know how I missed the deer that jumped out in front of me, but somehow I did. Whew.

For 10 years or so, I watched my daughter play grade school, high school, club and college volleyball. Now she is coaching, and I watched her coach her team to two victories and one loss.

Fun day!

Now out to split some firewood before the snow starts.
Lucky miss! I had a buck with huge antlers jump onto the freeway in front of me as I was coming down the mountain pass. Thankfully, I just saw it out of the corner of my eye and the fwy wasn't busy. I was able to slam on the brakes of the truck. I could have almost touched him, it was that close! 😱😱

This was a one-off. My mom had loads of these types of plug-in nick-nacks and not one of them over the course of decades ever had an issue except that one.

I vaguely recall my parents later looking at what was left. My guess? There was a crack in the plastic plug or faulty wires and it wasn't noticed until then.

If you're concerned about the cords on older items, look into getting the entire cord replaced.
I think it must have been at some time. It's a separate bulb with a switch on the cord.

Yes. I was given a 1-season and ethanol gas carb - which I replaced and got it going again - as a cast-off. It never did quite run to suit me and I always had something to fiddle with on it. One year not too long ago, I declared it a piece of shit and put it out at the alley and went to Lowe's and bought the cheapest mower possible, and that was $300. I have a small yard here Back East. The JD disappeared opernight and good damn riddance, too. The cheap mower starts every year by the 3rd pull.

I have never heard any negatives on little Honda engines.

Do not, if humanly possible run ethanol gasoline in your small engine. Find somewhere in the country that sells 100% gasoline. The ethanol turns to sludge in the gas lines and fucks up the works. Even with 100% gas, run it out before winter storage, just to be safe.
What kind of gas is at gas stations? Is it not 100% gasoline?

I have one of those ceramic Christmas trees. My great aunt made it when she had her ceramics shop long ago. When she made the one we have now, each tree branch was drilled out so as to fit a small crystal or clear plastic. The base was set up to hold a light socket and when a light bulb was turned on inside the tree, the crystals on the branch ends would shine to imitate tiny candles. I believe our tree was three sections, top and bottom and the base was the third piece. She glazed it in a pearlescent white gloss color with blue and pink accents.

It's really quite pretty and when we had our house in Georgia, there was a tiny alcove above the entrance to our kitchen from our living room. It had an electrical outlet in it as well. When we bought the house the realtor apologized for the feature saying that was an eye sore. I knew then exactly what was going in that alcove.

When we would open the front door during Christmas time, the little alcove was lit up prominently with that lovely little tree each year.
What a wonderful memory! Do you still have the tree?

Decent visit with the little doctor. I'm helping her to schedule her bills. She got off her track when she hurt her back 1.5 years ago, and she's struggled to regain her footing. Also, she has less money now and the condo is doing a plant upgrade and borrowed a lot of money and raised the HOA fee a hefty amount. She now had a paid-for unit and what amounts to damned near a mortgage payment. But stuff falls through the cracks sometimes because her system isn't organized. So, I showed her today what I do - Wat never misses shit. After all was said and done, I think that the old girl appreciated it.
You're a good son, Wat! 😘💞🥰

I was going to find somewhere to watch the game tomorrow. All of a sudden today, my wife started talking about making finger foods and appetizers and dips etc. Just like a woman, she sounded puzzled when I asked her why she wanted to do all of that. I reminded her that I was going to go find somewhere to watch it and I again asked her if she wanted to go with me. She said of course not. Why wouldn't I stay at the house if she made a small spread. I said because she said she had no interest in it. So, I asked her if she wanted to actually watch it with me and have a few drinks like I had planned on doing. She said maybe.

Now, most of you Y-Chromosome participants to this thread no exactly what I'm about to say. I foresee, in an effort to keep me from going and watching the game elsewhere (so as not to bother her and simultaneously so I'm not interrupted), that nothing will be as she has suggested. She won't watch it. She will balk at half of the food items being made, and she won't have a drink or two with me. I'm willing to bet that I'll have a few chores that all of a sudden need doing. It would absolutely give me hope that our relationship is headed back in the direction that it needs to be if it actually happened as planned or even partially happened. I would be giddy.

I normally don't dump and I'm sorry if it's a bummer to you all but damn. Just had to get that off my mind.
That's called bait-n-switch. And, it's just plain mean! 🤬

If what you think is going to happen does, I hope you can just nope out and go off somewhere to watch the game. 🏈🥨🍕🍔🌮🌭🍿🍺🍻

I sincerely hope what you want to happen does. 🫂❤️🫂

Well I hope everyone’s health improves. Sounds like quite a lotta illness. My fingers are crossed for ya!

The weather here will get bad overnight. Maybe up to 5” of snow and then some ice and freezing rain on toppa that.

I haveta travel to Hartford for work on Monday and we’re supposed to get another storm on Wednesday when I’m supposed to drive home.

Hmmmm
Be careful, W! 🫂❤️🫂

Right hip/upper butt cheek.
Testosterone.
Yes, I skipped the epoxy.
While I figure my skin could have taken it, I didn't want it to attack the 6 month "time release" pellets and "overdose" me (if possible).
I thank you soooo much for your input....

As icing on the cake, I caught a raging flu upon arrival... it got hellish yesterday and tonight.
Hence my absence.
Oh, you poor thing! Take care of your flu. Rest and drink lots of fluids. Warm ones are good for moving that snot up and out. If you can, get yourself to a provider to get an antiviral like Tamiflu.

As for your cut, keep the area clean and put a dressing over it. You may need some butterfly bandages to close it. If do, approximate the edges before you apply.
