Okay I will give you that one! I did read the books after the movie. Another one I saw in the theater. I am old!

I avoid comparing books to films by never really reading the books!

Works well for me, and the films end up being great

Well the books were written for a younger audience. Sometimes I feel like the simplify things.

100% agree, but when it "sweeps the nation" like say...Harry Potter books...then adults often end up reading them.
As much as JK Rowling is a piece of shit, she wrote some good books.

Suzanne Collins wrote Hunger Games and she isnt a good author, but has good ideas and characters.
THAT SAID...

go read Battle Royale by Takami. It was writtren before Hunger Games and is definitely much better, and likely inspired Hunger Games. There is a movie of it, its not great, and it has the very cute actress who played GoGo Yubari in Kill Bill vol 1 as one of the stars in the movie.

I read every single day. Often before bed to make my eyes tired, but plenty of times during an afternoon for enjoyment or learning etc.
