Dude, it's Trump's war.
By withdrawing from the long-standing treaty that guaranteed support for Ukraine against any Russian aggression (because Trump didn't receive enough dirt on Hunter Biden), he told Putin directly that he had permission to invade. Putin didn't need telling twice.
It's Putin's war. His own personal war of choice. No Russian military-industrial complex pressured him into it, and the Russian people were not clamoring for war with Ukraine.

Donald Trump’s demand for a $500bn (£400bn) “payback” from Ukraine goes far beyond US control over the country’s critical minerals. It covers everything from ports and infrastructure to oil and gas, and the larger resource base of the country.
The terms of the contract that landed at Volodymyr Zelensky’s office a week ago amount to the US economic colonisation of Ukraine, in legal perpetuity. It implies a burden of reparations that cannot possibly be achieved. The document has caused consternation and panic in Kyiv.
The Telegraph has obtained a draft of the pre-decisional contract, marked “Privileged & Confidential’ and dated Feb 7 2025. It states that the US and Ukraine should form a joint investment fund to ensure that “hostile parties to the conflict do not benefit from the reconstruction of Ukraine”.
The agreement covers the “economic value associated with resources of Ukraine”, including “mineral resources, oil and gas resources, ports, other infrastructure (as agreed)”, leaving it unclear what else might be encompassed. “This agreement shall be governed by New York law, without regard to conflict of laws principles,” it states.
The US will take 50pc of recurring revenues received by Ukraine from extraction of resources, and 50pc of the financial value of “all new licences issued to third parties” for the future monetisation of resources. There will be “a lien on such revenues” in favour of the US. “That clause means ‘pay us first, and then feed your children’,” said one source close to the negotiations.
It states that “for all future licences, the US will have a right of first refusal for the purchase of exportable minerals”. Washington will have sovereign immunity and acquire near total control over most of Ukraine’s commodity and resource economy. The fund “shall have the exclusive right to establish the method, selection criteria, terms, and conditions” of all future licences and projects. And so forth, in this vein. It seems to have been written by private lawyers, not the US departments of state or commerce.

Well we all know what happened next: Trump's written demand was basically for ALL rare earth deposits in Ukraine IN PERPETUITY with the US completely controlling all mineral exports out of Ukraine. Total control, Baybee.....we have the upper hand in teh negotiations! You must agree to our terms!

This morning, a consortium of European Union members, led by France and Germany, (countries that just yesterday our board self-proclaimed "Expert on Errything" GnarlyChan insisted were "socialist countries in decline") tendered their own deal to the Ukraine: Send the EU your rare metals, we'll pay you in hard cash, and provide replacements for any and all military weapon systems the United States is threatening to withhold.
Ironically, it was the election this past weekend of a right wing chancellor in Germany that allowed this deal to happen (Merz hates Russians).
This would give the EU a strong export market for military weapons (particularly the moribund French weapon manufacturers, establish the EU as a player in lithium car battery manufacturing market, and basically cripple the United States negotiating position trying to get the Ukraine to adhere to Russian conditions.
Remember, the US has no "troops on the ground" in Ukraine so the US cannot cut off troop deployments. President Joe Biden made sure a strong infrastructure was in place to provide Ukraine to produce its own ammunition for small arms, mortars and Patriot missles.
The only thing Ukraine lacks is access to funding for troops and weapons, and replacement weapons. The EU deal undercuts the US deal, and is a win for both the EU and the Ukraine....and egg on the face of President Musk and co-president Trump.
Not sure how President Musk will respond to this. He had access to vast stores of raw lithium to power his Teslas within his grasp............

In the long run we will get our money back. Or find out the EU actually is incapable of fighting their own war. Which they have set up. They forgot to include Russia in the discussion.
Apparently there is a potential agreement between the US and Ukraine over resources.
It took Great Britain until March 15th 2015 to repay the Lend Lease deal.
Ukraine has never once said it wasn't open to settling up on the cost war materials ( go read some of the news about using the Russian money held right now), and demanding aid to be free. All they said was,"we need it now". You can interfere the "we'll settle this debt up when Russia's pushed back" is something that comes later.
But twats such as yourself figure the US pays the way for the whole world....it just aint so.....
What would be the point of including Russia? Putin didn't ask anybody's permission before he invaded.
Actually he may have. He asked (or told ) Belarus.

Neither offer is signed. And Russia needs to be included or the agreement will be a declaration of war. War the EU is unable to fight and the US unwilling. Biden never should have started this war in the first place. Biden and Ukraine both had the opportunity to avoid it.
Those are all damned lies. Nobody but Putin started this war, and nobody provoked him. Russia has no business at all keeping Ukraine out of NATO. Ukraine has the right to turn its back on Russia and align with the West. Nobody poked the bear.
