I'd forgotten 'piddling' could be used this way. When I say, "I'm just piddling around" I'm saying I'm doing a little of this, a little of that, nothing of consequence.

Pottering is a good catch all... pootling too... faffing's a bit more negative here in Yorkshire.... as in "stop faffing about"

it was just scans of negatives... some were ok, some not. Usual stuff... i'm reasonably happy is all the frames have something on them!
