Yelling isn't bad on its own, if you did it with good intentions to correct a behavior it's not bad, unless you used insulting or threatening language.


Don't over correct yourself, just let her know you're sorry for lashing out and you love her.

I did. But I don’t think it’s enough to build back what I had. I promised myself I’d never yell in anger, and broke it.

I appreciate the advice but this doesn’t seem like something I can fix. I just have to live in this new reality. And honestly it kind of sucks.

Of course you can fix it, by correcting the negative behavior and by actions.

Sorry it does suck, but parents have a lot on their plate and make mistakes. It can and will be fixed!

Kids DO need to know parents aren't always perfect. They make mistakes.
Your kid will make the same mistakes with their kids.
Don't beat yourself up ...you are only human
