The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Hottest was 123 degrees in Baghdad.
i think about the same. Summer of 2004. Maybe 120ish near camp victory north. Unbearably hot.

And working on and/or being inside a tank in that heat is awful.

I can get acclimated to the cold better than I can the heat. I feel
Like I can get used to it better. The fucking heat just stays with you and bakes your skin and insides.

Funny thing is I like nice warm weather. Give me a nice 90 or 95° day in New Jersey any day of the week. Even w the humidity. But that desert hot?? Oh no.

Finally caught up... and done w/ work
(well, I was caught up until whomever just posted - I'll get to you next... )
Busy day, Wednesday...

I think I will just smack people and yell " mosquito" as needed
💯 Approved!
She must have had a bad experience with clippers before I got her.
😥 all it takes is one bad clip
When I had cats they both got the Burrito Treatment on Spa Day
Knowing I didn't have to be out in it really helped!
Doesn't it just? Snow looks so much better when tucked up warm, toasty, and at a distance. ❄️
I prefer the term sexygenarian! 🤭🤭🤭
Oh you are!!

How about being a Kinkyquagenerian?
New Scrabble words challenges just dropped 🤭
Regardless, adding to my lexicon
Errrrrrrm……..yes…….very bad…….very very very bad! I think a few Hale Mary’s ain’t gonna cut it?
What. Did. You. Do?!?
Wait. No. Don't tell me :ROFLMAO:
(More fun if I use my imagination)
Today’s jobs are getting the van fixed and removing a big borough off a tree on the drive. It has fractured in the storm and is dangerous.
Hope it went well and the removal of the bough was less dangerous than its displacement
Weather for tomorrow is a mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow. ☹️. Just give me snow!
🤬 Ice is evil... I agree, stick with plain snow P&Q
If Wat started talking like Marge down here in HDHland, the locals would look at him all funny before askin' what he meant.
🤣🤣🤣 Ain't language a hoot! So many local variations that can make you think English is a foreign language for native speakers.
Keep writing, you!!! That'sa good pome over there.

You do, and I'll do too. Deal?
Thanks brother. I seen some a yer pomes there too.
Literary Support Club resuming its meetings 📝
I’m going to try to lay low and not attract any attention that might result in new make work.
Good plan - execution fail over here by me. Maybe you had better luck?
Be careful out there! My wife just slipped on the ice and got 5 shiny new staples in the back of her head to close the gash. Lots of people in the ER who had falls.
Oh no! 🫂 Please watch her carefully. Head bonks can really put a scramble on things. Hope she recovers with no additional issues.
He’s a weirdo.
Weirdo cats are the best!!
I like a cat with character or is a character.
See?

Then, since it February on the eve of Iciclegeddon, there was talk of weather and temperatures...
We have been flooded in since yesterday can’t get out if we wanted to
Stay safe... lots of icky stuff can hide below the surface of flood waters! Hope it drains away soon. 🫂
Spent the last few n the PNW. Cold. Calgary? It was -12 and windy. Nose hairs froze on contact. I’ve only experienced that once before. In Greenland, -32. What’s the coldest you’ve ever been? My hats off to our Canadian and Norwegian friends. How y’all do it I’ll never know.
Coldest I’ve ever been was -15 (without wind chill) in the Colorado Mountains. Hottest was 123 degrees in Baghdad.
Stage 1 hypothermia. Definitely not fun. After that swim in a glacial river, the next purchase was a drysuit for whitewater boating. I figured my life was worth the cost.

If you really mean, what's the coldest temperature that you've ever been in, then I'd have to say somewhere on the order of -50°F to -55°F ambient (not wind chill). It might have been colder here and there, but who remembers all that shit. You learn to dress properly, move deliberately, keep dry, and keep your butt to the wind. Never stand still and always shuffle your feet if you have to be in one spot. Yet, the world is warming up and I haven't worn my polar parka in maybe 10 - 15 years.
I've seen -30F here. Summer temp at 104F, same place.

Hmm... coldest for me I think was -40F (not counting wind chill) and warmest was on a vacation 114F (dry heat).

The dry heat was deceptively easier to withstand than the humid heat I'm used to, but regardless I can overheat fast and burn like a 🦞 even with high SPF sunscreen. I have about 4 sun hats and 2 or 3 different types of sunscreen that I tolerate (zinc base - like I'm not pale enough  ) and always carry some water wherever I go just in case.

While cold is no joke, I think within reason and with proper resources, it's easier to warm up than cool down - at least for me.

Off to see who's posted while I was catching up... then time to forage some dinner before I set up a grocery order to pick up tomorrow after work. Wonder what produce is currently not an obscene mid-winter price?

Trying to catch up after a day on in this Spoon of ours…impossible task!

An avalanche of HoneyDo’s awaited (some concern a certain High Schooler🙄) so life goes on…

White Street Pier MZ sunrise…

Minus 8*F with some kinda wind. Inauguration day 1985. It was awfully cold on the mid-Atlantic that year.

Made better headway today that's it looked like would be possible. That's always a nice touch. Makes bosses and owners happeh.

I had to contact two last=t year jobs for paperwork - one W2 and one 1099. One would think . . . .

Incompetent assholes.

I wonder what Ethyl is thinking about???
