I have two visions of this:

I think it would be terrific to use this idea as a stepping stone to the couple opening their sexual world. Perhaps adding in some roleplay at first, then maybe some light BDSM (maybe taking a very hands-off class on this, privately, or sex in public. The 1st option is definitely more realistic, especially if it’s just presented as a toy she’s been using for years. OHE had a good idea about naming it after its creator, unbeknownst to her husband. She could just be a Lorelei Gilmore-type character in that she names everything: vehicles, non-pet animals she encounters (even without knowing their genders, like a baby chick initially named Stanley, whom she later discovers is a Stella), houseplants, inanimate objects, etc, so he thinks nothing of her referring to it as [Thomas] at first.

If you ever decide to do sequels, one could include her husband eventually discovering an entire box of Clone-a-Willys she requested from each of her exes…it just so happens that [Thomas] was her favorite.
