Does Fitton give any legal grounds for that?
No but Milley can be investigated and forced to testify before military tribunals, Grand Juries, or Congress or face contempt proceedings if he refuses. Fitton's lawyers may have other legal angles.Does Fitton give any legal grounds for that?
None of them have 5th amendment protections within the scope of the pardons. No but Milley can be investigated and forced to testify before military tribunals, Grand Juries, or Congress or face contempt proceedings if he refuses. Fitton's lawyers may have other legal angles.
They won't be the ones humiliated if they testify. The "Select January Sixth Committee" members have been put on notice that subpoenas will be forth coming. Severe public humiliation to follow.
But Trump cannot court-martial Milley or prosecute Fauci. No but Milley can be investigated and forced to testify before military tribunals, Grand Juries, or Congress or face contempt proceedings if he refuses. Fitton's lawyers may have other legal angles.
The 1/6 Committee members did nothing illegal by investigating.
States can prosecute Fauci and some might do so.But Trump cannot court-martial Milley or prosecute Fauci.
Milley can be prosecuted for perjury and or contempt if he lies under oath. But Trump cannot court-martial Milley or prosecute Fauci.
It is extremely disturbing that Biden saw it necessary to pardon Fauci, of all people. He judged Trump to be petty and vindictive enough to criminally prosecute a man whose only conceivable crime was to make Trump look bad; and that was no misjudgment on Biden's part.States can prosecute Fauci and some might do so.
His only conceivable crime was to make Trump look bad.
States can prosecute him.
They did a lot illegal in other ways. The 1/6 Committee members did nothing illegal by investigating.
It was inconceivable that there would not be such a committee. Congress as Congress was physically attacked for the first time in American history.
You might want to research Gain of Function. Then research how bad Little Tony F’d up the initial handling of the lockdowns…specifically going against every other medical outlet (WHO, CDC) about the wearing of masks. Why?His only conceivable crime was to make Trump look bad.
The New York Times reported in December, “Dr. Fauci acknowledged that he had slowly but deliberately been moving the goal posts. He is doing so, he said, partly based on new science, and partly on his gut feeling that the country is finally ready to hear what he really thinks.” This admission betrays his carefully cultivated image. Clearly, Fauci is willing to indulge in pious fictions when he decides they’re necessary. In truth, the cult of Fauci is based on a character; a performance that has served him, and sometimes the public, very well.
The Washington Post’s Molly Roberts charted the invention of this posture in a July 2020 profile. (Subhed: “One man, six presidents and the fragile balance between politics and science.”) During the AIDS epidemic, Fauci was seen by activists as slow-walking the approval of desperately needed treatments and wasting money appropriated to combat the crisis. The radical AIDS advocacy group ACT UP targeted him with particular ire. “It doesn’t take a genius to set up a nationwide network of testing sites, commence a small number of moderately sized treatment efficacy tests on a population desperate to participate in them, import any and all interesting drugs… from around the world for inclusion in these tests at these sites, and swiftly get into circulation anything that remotely passes muster,” wrote Larry Kramer, the playwright and activist, in an open letter to Fauci in 1988. “Yet, after three years, you have established only a system of waste, chaos, and uselessness.”
Such as?They did a lot illegal in other ways.
Fauci? On what charge?States can prosecute him.
