Man did I have weird dreams last night.

First one was long and rambling and my mom was in it.

Second one was i was at some scenic place where we could barely see the Pacific Ocean. But then i was in Somerville NJ at the old bowling alley which had been converted to a big box store. I was reminiscing w the clerk while checking out about what the old bowling alley was like and some snot nosed kid pulled an OK Boomer thing on me (I’m gen x), then we got to fighting and he had a friend who was about to kick my ass. But then I was running along a railroad track with Iggy Pop, who was on my side.

C’mon dream analysts… what does it mean??

I need to learn, apparently over and over again, that I can't expect people to act or do the things I would.....

Sometimes I just get so tired of it all.... because if I say I am going to do something or be somewhere etc.... I do it.....

Good late morning. I was up at midnight giving my dog his pain meds. He was having an episode. But then we both got some sleep. I have busy stoned getting up at 630 with household things. My dog seems better and going to put him on a 12 hour pain meds cycle with sleeping medicine an hour before I go to sleep.

Well the Lions defense met its match last night. And so did its offense. They had a good season considering its injuries. Maybe next year.

And I was not up early enough to catch Lilli. Welcome back Lilli!

First of all…WELCOME BACK LILI!

So glad you’re feeling better! Keep getting better and doing those little nurse things you’ve passed on to the rest of us!

I’m feeling better so called back in to work after taking a couple three sick days (and maybe stretched it a day to make the celebration of life for my friend ) and after getting packed took the whole tribe out for supper.

KITTY UPDATE…

After hanging out and playing all day, granddaughter had to get her nap out, so kitty was let off the porch and he (upon closer inspection kitty was found to be a boy) found his way home…we’re kind of bummed, but the good news is, he might be a Visiting Cat! . We’ve had those in the past and we sort of half adopted them…one so much the owner knew she was always taken care of and would just tell us she’d be away for a few days. We were already stocked up on food and treats…so maybe the same dynamic? As I asked about the kitty, I got a line of baby gibberish, so she’s very excited about her little visitor! I see animals in this girls future!

New day, and new beginnings, and new found reflections on our existence. Seeing people I haven’t seen in 40yrs will do that I guess. SWhoMBO made the comment of the relative age of the folks attending….I thought…yep, we’ll be doing this more in the coming years I’m afraid. Let’s all remember to enjoy our laps around the blazing ball! Speaking off…how about a rising blazing ball MZ…

Just spent the last hour+ blowing snow. It's -4f right now...

That's cold! I saw an IG post yesterday from someone I follow. He was telling the Canadians they may have left their door open and all their cold escaped to the US South! He was asking them to come pick up their weather and bring it home. It was hilarious!

Watched football all afternoon. But a workout this morning and wood bin filling have me 14k steps somehow.

Forgot - also did a deep clean of the bedroom. It was getting pretty gross underneath the bed and behind the nightstands. And don’t get me going about the top of the ceiling fan.

Busy day... tile work started in the bathroom. Handyman took a couple breaks and helped me move the heavy desk and chaise lounge in my home office. Everything is re-connected and in working order. Definitely warmer at the desk now that it's away from the exterior wall.

Now? I'm ready for a hot shower and read until my hair dries. Sounds like a busy day for lots of us... a little catch up before I tuck into bed...

Personally, I feel it's my brain or subconscious either protecting me or doing a bit of self-care as I continue to work through a loss. Either way, I tend to enjoy when friends and relatives come a calling.

I've been hours behind all day... nice to see others stepping up. I'd have gladly offered to dry.

I love those visits. So far, none of those have been scary or creepy. They have been loving, fun, and bittersweet once I begin to awake.

I recall when my mom painted the bedroom furniture. She found some mis-matched pieces at a couple garage sales. Then painted them all the same color and hand-stenciled the same design on them so they looked like a set. Thank you for evoking that fond memory.

I'm so sorry!! Given the damage, I doubt that the driver could have missed the fact that they hit your garage. Sad they didn't step up and take ownership. Sounds like an expensive fix for someone else's "oops".

Growing up, when we had weather like that, Dad said he was the only one allowed to leave the house. He knew we kids would have a day off school and want to go out and play. Mom wasn't a fan of being locked up with all us kids, but knew it was for the best, too.

What's your hourly rate? Handyman's doing a great job but it's very messy!! I feel like I'll be cleaning for days once the bathroom facelift is done.

Good morning Wonderer and NC. The temp is 0, wind chill - 12. It looks like I have taxi duty so I am packing blankets in the car. Fortunately, my taxi is new and in the garage. It should start.

I had 7 hours of sleep. The dog is doing better.

Wasn't Monday a holiday for the kids? It was MLK, Jr Day, a Federal holiday. Usually schools are closed. I hope you're not too cold there the rest of this week.

Just getting blasted with something. Been fighting an extra special dose of whatever I've been dealing with for the few years. Can't sit at my desk for more than a few hours. Tried a light workout to shake this loose, nothing seems to be working. Low dose of steroids doesn't seem to be helping right now. Have a Dr appointment tomorrow, so we'll see if she has any new ideas.

Getting to the point I'm ready to jump in the truck and start driving until I find a place I feel better. Really running out of ideas...

I remember when I was working a lab job and had lots of free time. I started a small lawn care business for extra cash. After about 3 months into it I got horribly sick. I couldn't get out of bed from the severe, all over body pain. It was very debilitating. I finally figured it out. The allergy medicine I was taking to offset my hay fever was producing the debilitating pain. Can you imagine? My medicine was hurting me. It turns out that those were the very rare side effects that are almost never mentioned. I t drive me crazy trying to figure that out.

If it makes you feel better . . . I had a hip issue. My body was producing a chemical that my body was rejecting. It was eating away at the hip joint and bone. I ended up having to surgeries to fix / stop this from happening. All it really did was slow the process down. Long story short, i soon had stage 4 arthritis on one hip. It was bone on bone and would knock / pop loudly when I walked. Well the BIG fix was having my hip replaced. The good thing about it all was this issue didn't travel to other parts of the body. I dealt w/ it for 16 yrs before I got it replaced. Almost sorry I didn't do it sooner but at my age, I'll just wear this 1 out sooner than later. Can only get 2 replacements in a lifetime. Yay me. Isn't getting old just the greatest????
