Website/App idea. Map the confederate flags!

I’ve had this idea for awhile. I travel a decent amount in Appalachia regions doing outdoor sports and it’s always offensive to see people displaying their confederate flags. I would love for someone to create a website or app to enable users to submit the locations and map all of these ignorant degenerate's. Not sure of the legality of my proposition. Don’t particularly care. Can’t say I specifically want the people proudly waving their racism to be harmed, but I’m not opposed to some mild vandalism.

But I fully expect someone - independent citizen, the new administration, new admin under guise of a citizen, etc. - to come up with an app wherein people mark the supposed locations of "illegal aliens", so that Joe MAGA can do his patriotic part in helping with roundups and deportations.

Not sure how prolific / successful such an app would be, but I think this thread inadvertently predicts several variations on said theme. Such ideas are definitely floating around already...

The Laken Riley act combined.with this sort of thing is going to completely clog an already clogged up system, which will directly slow down the deportations that this new administration is advertising.

And I'm not celebrating or hating on this either way. I just find it interesting that they're shooting themselves in the foot right out of the gate and MAGA is celebrating it.

I guess that would be a little like the ICE hotline? Or a different, larger network for citizen reports?

A phone app would definitely take things to an entirely different level with locations, photos, possibly video. Those in combination with the scanning already being done on the ground and by police drone...

MAGA probably sees a streamlined process but yeah, reality is that it's going to be a shitshow no matter which way they try to carry this out. I also suspect MAGA will celebrate that chaos...until it comes to their doorstep.

I don’t consider publicly shaming racists fascism. I prefer the phrase a crowd sourced racism identification app. You can make anything sound bad with loaded language and propaganda. Are we supposed to ignore all the harm their racism has caused and worry about the possibility of harming them. Be the bigger person, turn a blind eye to their racism. I’d rather not.

I'm probably the foremost combatant against racist attitudes on this site. I've been at it since Stormfront infiltrated the place in the mid-aughts, and there are over 200 threads dedicated to me as a result of that and other efforts.

So, take it from me: even to propose this idea of yours as a discussion point, you needed to come at it with a little more forethought. It requires tact to pull off.

Otherwise, it's easy to denounce you as a bad-acting Deplorable, pretending to be a liberal anti-racism warrior, in efforts to make the latter side look bad.

If you drove by a house and saw a flag you didn't like, that is your discovery to digest as you need to....I would expect that wouldn't involve something illegal, but you are instead providing that information to a larger group of people who may or may not do stupid things with that information.
