Yeah, I guess I had one of those days. A 30 minute meeting turned into 60 minutes.
Sounds like you’re doing a great job of rolling with the punches, brother.Yesterday marked 44 years that my grandfather died. All but dropped dead of a massive heart attack. He wanted to die in bed but agreed that getting hit by a truck would be okay, as in over quickly. I guess he almost got his wish. He was my Man Mentor more than Dad was. I liked spending time with him and liked avoiding Dad. We go down the road this week to bury his (GF's) baby boy.
Nine months ago, I lost a good paying job. Other than the money, losing it was good riddance. Three weeks later, I got hired onto a clusterfuck job and got job-costed out in 4 weeks. Again, other than money, no loss at all. Two and a half months of no work and then 2 months of shit work. Two more months off and then 4 weeks of really shit work. I compromised a lot for money and regretted it, yet I don't really regret it.
Finally talked to a Real Company last week about a Real Position doing what I had been doing, almost exactly. For Real Money, with Real Perks. Face-to-face and telephone interviews facilitated by a hard-working (not a spaghetti tossing) headhunter. Kinda the old-fashioned way. Talked on Wednesday, met on Friday, got the verbal intent-to-hire Friday afternoon. I'm waiting for the paper/digital offer so we can all agree and plan to move forward.
It takes awhile for anything worth having. I've kept it all glued together, somehow. But there have been a great deal of changes in the last several months. I'm obviously not in charge, and sine Change is the only real constant we have in Life, I do my best to surrender to it and embrace it. I also try to help others along the way.
“Garbage” and “recycling”Garbage recycling.
The chicken coop might also want to be down wind.My proposed location is in the downstream portion of our creek which is at the bottom of a steepish hill on the downwind side of Teh farm. Wat has think about it.
Damn, that sounds really intense. I saw that picture as well. You don't have to shovel sun! The forecast is snow for the next week.
We have one! We’ll bring it to the bar! We listen to it for the first time in a long time on Saturday. Now let's see...?View attachment 2466496
Sending s hugYeah, I guess I had one of those days. A 30 minute meeting turned into 60 minutes.
Then a 60 minute meeting turned into 180° different thing from where we started…
And then my last meeting, I didn’t even need to be on.
Ok, enough bitching for me. Just venting.
Funny the neighbors have like 70 chickens qnd it doesn't smell..... they keep the coops "clean"The chicken coop might also want to be down wind.
We missed you bunches.... now we need to get lilianna back from her illness.....Popping into the Bar I am delighted to see my pissy tea is still on the colour chart despite my absence.Looking around I see some familiar faces and a few I don’t recognise.
Good to be back after a lot of family time. I am pleased tomsay that things are good. My daughter and grandson are doing well after the trauma of his birth. Mum is recovering from her stroke. Her speech has returned and she is at a rehabilitation centre to get her walking and hopefully self sufficient to return home.
And Forrest @Missk_2022 and @Lilianna23 my boys are fit and well back working on the hill!
Thanks for all your support through a difficult time!

Hey - that's my lineI'm a lucky girl
Now that's the way you Lit it up, Rj! Hope you had fun!!Nothing in my life is sane...
I'm currently hoping around 8 threads at 1 am...
BJ Parties are announced on a different thread.Unsurprisingly, I first read this as BJ party and was on my way over. Then saw the graphic and realised I couldn't go as I don't have any.![]()
So glad you found something that works... and for sharing. You & everyone else w/ the tips. Never know what may help someone else. It’s 5 am here and good morning to those awake. I was awake at 1 am but used a brief walk around the house and my mantra and easily sent back to sleep. I did have 7 hours of sleep again.
After a week of getting about 7 hours of sleep, i have data. I found that turning off electronics an hour before sleep, and then nothing to eat or drink two hours before bedtime, is a routine that has helped me get close to seven hours of sleep every night.
Good morning - don't recall seeing you here before, so...Morning!
There's a reason why "Penny wise and pound foolish" became a sayingWhile I agree that expertise is needed, a trend in state licensing boards is slowly making it less likely that expertise is used. I saw it happen in Georgia and Florida.
It used to be that every technician had to be licensed and refreshed every couple of years. The new trend is that only one license is needed per site and is usually a manager or the like. Now they don't have to pay for expertise. The mistakes made on weekends and night shift are trying to be fixed on one day shift throwing the whole biome into a tail spin of ups and downs reducing efficiency and limiting effectiveness during high flow events. Think Flint Michigan. That's what happened there.
I've sent an email to a few people here in Mississippi to feel out the armor and politics but that will be a slow process of information.
So, I'll go sell lawn services to people who say they can do it themselves.
Edit:"...feel out the atmosphere..."
{{{HDH}}} so sorry for your loss.Longtime friend of the family passed away yesterday morning
Super Heroe of Change! It takes awhile for anything worth having. I've kept it all glued together, somehow. But there have been a great deal of changes in the last several months.

You are clearly doing well with that boy keep,up,the good work!We missed you bunches.... now we need to get lilianna back from her illness.....
Glad everyone there is doing well and mum is on the mend.
I am going to start taking sven (neighbors German shepherd) on walks and going to try to do some obedience stuff with him...he is such a smart boy.... he is not crowding the other dog anymore. I made him wait his turn and say Archie's turn... and he patiently waits. He doesn't try to jump his 100 lb self in my lap. He is made to "wait" ... so he sits looks at me and puts one paw on my knee....
Such a smart boy
All the benefits of having a dog with none of the hair.... he has a LOT of hair
When he puts his paw on my knee he looks at me so lovingly.... I can't help but love on him.... he is a cuddler..... I qm not the type to have an alpha type dog. I am too soft...but he wants to please everyone.... and he is still a baby.... not even one... yes 100 lb puppy.....You are clearly doing well with that boy keep,up,the good work!
Cute video!!

Lol, your 4 page long catch up posts make my day. One day I will learn the ways of the master so I, too, can play catch up in a thorough manner that aids in my OCD'ish need to be complete.Happy to report the heater in my car is a BOSS!! Kept me toasty on my lunchtime errand.

Good morning - don't recall seeing you here before, so...
Here's the standard welcome for all café newcomers:
Welcome to the café.
We conduct ourselves a bit differently here than most of the rest of Lit.
Post #1 introduces the joint... and glancing back over the last 10-20 pages provides additional context.
To be clear:
1. No religion 2. No politics 3. No drama 4. This isn't a hook up thread. Take it to the DMs or go somewhere else.
Everyone is welcome but we are protective of the vibe
This applies to all who visit this thread.
If this feels like a good match, welcome...
If not then please keep looking on Lit -
There's so many threads to choose from. You're sure to find a few to your liking.

{{{HDH}}} so sorry for your loss.
Super Heroe of Change!
@Wonderer67 added the chicken coop upwind
How about - anything that poops goes upwind
We may need to invest is some large, easily cleaned fans to achieve this goal at 100% efficiency. js
I resemble that remark LOL
And the well is upstream, yes
(assuming there's a well vs city water connection - yes, city OM)

Grey - As they say across the pond, "You've really been through the wars". Glad everyone is on the uptick and you're back to your regular routine. Love and luck to mom and daughter/grandson that everyone keeps making forward progress.
