Fart molecule is 3000 times smaller than the covid virus. For comparison those pictures showing how much bigger the sun is compared to Earth? Well the sun is only 109 times the size of earth. The only way a mask could block fart molecules is if you suffocated while wearing one.
Masks work by reducing the probability that a virus particle can make it through multiple layers of fabric without hitting and sticking to the fabric. Not 100%. But very effective.

I was scheduled to get a covid and flu shot a few days back. Unfortunately, CVS canceled my covid shot at the last minute (not the first time, probably ran out) so I decided to get both in a few weeks. Although it's late in the day for the flu shot, but I don't care. I get the covid vaccine every 4 months. Anyway I've been wearing a mask when I go out bc I don't want to get sick. Never had covid and I don't want it. The one time I had the flu back in the 80s convinced me I didn't want it again.
