I love fireworks, but don't like that my cat (and other pets) hate them. It's awful to see how scared they are. A few fireworks between set times is ok as you can plan around that. But these days it's anytime. Day or night..we even had them on Christmas day! FFS

I quite like fireworks, but organised displays only. It's too damn dangerous otherwise. My very best advice to you is, "Don't go to Germany for NYE".

Would noise cancelling headphones help?

Is Germany worse than the UK?

There's a guy up my road who gets the pyrotechnics out on every conceivable occasion. Christmas, New Year, Easter, Diwali, Chinese New Year, the Cat's Birthday. Money to burn is all I can think.

Thankfully the double glazing works quite well as a muffler.
