Tips for Creating Stories Women Appreciate

Women are human beings. Each a unique individual. What they like is different to the woman standing next to her.
There isn't one single thing that you could include that would please all.
There isn't one single thing that would disgust all.... Well except rape... Violence and brutality... That is a turn off (In my opinion)...

Women, like men. Enjoy well written stories with wonderfully engaging characters, rich dialogue.
They want to feel something...

If you want to write something that a woman would enjoy.

Forget about big cocks or bulging biceps. Forget about muscle cars.... Write a great recipe for a moist delicious chocolate cake that works every time...

Mmmm .... Chocolate ....

Reminds me of the criticism about Fifty Shades & how if Chris wasn't super-wealthy & described as being almost supernaturally good-looking it would be a much less 'romantic' story. Like if you replace Chris with Danny DeVito (minus the fame & money) it's super-creepy!

(No shade on Danny DeVito, he actually seems like a really cool guy & I'm a big fan).
Danny DeVito seemed to do well with Rhea Perlman, although they separated a few years ago.

There was a meme going around that if 50 Shades took place in a trailer park it would be a horror movie...
You have to wonder why dominatrix material is so popular on-line. I've read theories of why guys would go for there own version of 50 Shades, but I'm not going to do into that here. Well, I'd guess that the appeal of dominatrices is not their looks or money, but the power they project. And, yes, I have written about two such ladies, sometimes with them as the narrators.

You should have stopped with the first paragraph. There are lots of women who enjoy rape stories. We're talking about erotica here, not real life.

I've always suspected that users who don't specify a gender are more often female than male. Men, after all, give women reasons to be guarded about their gender. If so, then the large percentage of commenters who didn't specify a gender means that the values in the two right columns may not be meaningful.
Makes sense. I have people assume I'm a woman once in a while, probably because of the name I use here (plenty of guys like ABBA though). Occasionally something shows up in my mailbox having me go, whoa, dude. Not interested.

We are all entitled to our opinions....

That's all they are... Opinions... The way we... (As in me speaking for myself) See the world....

I do not speak on behalf of anybody else... Just myself.

If you think you can separate erotica from the real world. I feel you are fooling yourself...

We are all different, but we are all real...

It sounded like you were speaking for lots of people when you said that rape is the single thing that would disgust us all.

I suspect it's for the same reason some women are really into submission. You aren't responsible for anything at that point. It takes the stress away.

Nope... Just my thoughts....

It is my 'hope' all are disgusted by it... A fantasy I suppose.

I can say unequivocally. It disgusts me... I hope there's enough humanity left in the world that others feel the same....

You see, I do not believe you can sweep shit under the carpet and say. "Don't worry, it's only erotica."

My opinion only....

Cagivagurl.

OK, that qualifies as an opinioin in my book.

Sometimes, yes. But often much more complex. Or, maybe not complex, just difficult to articulate. But, for sure, not confined to one sex or the other.

I have heard that idea about stress. How about "switches?" I suppose both sides of the situation appeals to them. For some reason, everybody I write about with that kink is a switch. Maybe it just seems more fair that way.

I believe the opposite is true...
Where gender isn't specified. It's more likely male. Why???
They can express opinions that they're to embarrassed to reveal in public.

From my own point of view, as a switch, I would not say that for me 'stress and the letting go of desissions-argument' have anything to do with the appeal of D/S. for me it's more about the anticipation of not knowing and the trust I share with a partner. That is a big turn on.

I suppose everybody is against violence and brutality, or at least say they are. Except, there certainly is plenty of it in the world. I don't mean freelance crazies like Charles Manson. I mean the average people with uniforms, guns, and basic training who are then sent out to use their new skills. It doesn't matter which culture they are from, they almost always do as instructed.

As a switch, myself, I agree that it’s not about stress. I feel like for me I can switch because I’m already a naturally low stress person.

Sadly... Very true...
So many proclaiming they are fighting for right...
Don't wanna make this political. Just sorta saying. Violence is a bad thing......

Not sure, I can see someone's mood driving that. I have to think the challenge there would be having a partner who was in synch (or counter synch?) with you? Be really inconvenient if both of you were feeling sub at the same time.

Cagiva has an MO of stating (what she thinks are) unmovable facts and then tagging the bottom with "just my opinion" to deny all debate of her so-called "facts". Don't waste your time arguing with her nonsense.

Of course, yours is the only valid opinion.

In a lot of my reading here, a few things become evident and those things probably don't appeal to women. That's because the descriptions of the characters and their actions are fantasies and not reality.

About 99% of people are just OK looking. They're not extremely handsome, muscular studs nor are they gorgeous women with perfect figures. In my somewhat limited experience, men may think they're hot, but women will compare their attributes to those of the female character in the story, and most women see a different body in the mirror than a man sees when he looks at her.

I always chuckle when I read about a 12 inch cock that's 6 inches around. Not only are most men much smaller, but most women wouldn't want that cock because it would be at least uncomfortable if not painful.

I also chuckle when I read about a woman who wears a 44 DDD bra. Men probably fantasize about that. A woman reading that might look at it as minimizing her sexuality because she's only a 32B.

Anal sex required a lot of lube, preparation, and time for a woman. Just changing from slot b to hole c between strokes isn't likely something she's going to enjoy if she enjoys anal sex at all.

As has been often said, men tend toward unidirectional and logical thinking about themselves and what they're doing. Women tend toward an expansive and emotional view of themselves and what's going on around them. Maybe today's generation is different, but women are also taught from birth that sex is something special between a man and a woman. A woman has a lot more physical and emotional involvement in sex than a man does because they're only a virgin once and because of the risk of pregnancy. They'll be more reserved about sex until they at least know the guy well.

In short, write your characters as three-dimensional people with the thoughts, hopes, fears, and other personality traits all humans have to one degree or another. Write their physical descriptions as something that would fit the people you're around every day. Save the stereotypes for secondary characters. Stereotypes are a good way to describe one of those secondary characters without using a lot of words, but they won't reach a reader like a description of someone who is "normal".
I like big tits, so a tiny b-cup is practically nonexistant in my stories. And a six inch diameter dick, isn't all that crazy, it's probably more common than a twelve inch long dick. It's closer to an empty toilet paper roll, than a soda can.
