This time of year tv shows go on break and new ones won't start for months...what are some shows/series/streaming movies to recommend...

Last night we watched Carry-On (Netflix movie) staring Jason Bateman and Taron Egerton (Kingsmen series) thriller that has a Christmas time frame along the lines of Die Hard...

What other shows/movies you Litsters would recommend?

The Devil's Hour on Prime is fantastic but not sure if it's available in the USA?

Here's my two cents.

Everyone, and I mean everyone, has to watch Downton Abby, which is the granddaddy of them all. A close second is Breaking Bad and then Peaky Blinders. (I'll admit that I have never watched a single episode of G.O.T. or The Walking Dead.)

After those three it simple depends on what you enjoy watching. The Americans is very entertaining and very well acted. The Vikings was also entertaining and was rather surprising since the production quality was fairly high.

I also enjoy series that are done on a shoestring budget and are good simply because one cares about a character or a plot line.

6 triple 8's a WWII movie about a WAC unit shared to deliver the mail...VERY GOOD movie and a little history to learn about too..

Currently watching the series The Pitt...high drama series on HBO Max each episode is 1 hour in the life of an emergency room in Pittsburgh (not a documentary)

Think 24 meets ER
