The other night, I was crocheting while watching the girl I babysit at her basketball practice. One of the parents asked me if I was knitting. I said no, I was crocheting. They asked me what the difference is. I’d say that that is the most common question I get when folks are told that I crochet but do not knit. It’s kind of odd that knitting is more well known than crochet, considering that more people crochet than knit.

I would have asked, "if you crochet, where's your big wooden balls and that big wooden mallet thingy?"

I knit, but have never mastered the art of crocheting.
