Can a man, buy some land, withdraw, live a simple life and be left alone? If he lives under any sort of government, then the answer is no for they will always require an involuntary tithe in recognition of all that they do for him. What of the man who wishes not to be governed? Must he then be broken for refusal to tithe?

At least. Under that government. And that represents the divide in our country. Those that do what they will and those who know better.

Under that government, reasoning on most issues would follow along something like this:

We are better off when we do not stigmatize mental health.
You do not punish a person for cancer, you pity them, care for them.
We want everyone to have free choices and free choice does not depend on illness.
If you have cancer, as an example, and you do not want to be treated, we must accept that with compassion. Your body, your choice. We do not strap the sick and suffering down and hospitalize them against their will. That is their fundamental right.
If a person has less than perfect mental health and does not feel comfortable in a hospital, then they should not be in a hospital either. They should not be held against their will. We know that, and we know that there are some slight risks involved (e.g., encountering a Daniel Penny). As a community, we accept that to protect every individual’s rights in the community. When that person errs, we cannot hold them any more responsible than we would a child.
As a community, we protect our children, so we have to make sure that that people with less than perfect mental health cannot get anywhere near a gun, and since they are very clever children and a lot of you are pretty stupid, insecure adults, we really should take all of your guns to protect ourselves and our community from the liberty of others.
You do believe in Liberty don’t you, or are you a Communist? You do want to protect the children, or are you just that hateful?
It must be your religion keeping you back from being fully human, so we’ll treat you as subhuman if you lack the common sense to surrender your guns to save the children.
