How long does it take to publish one story

It can take anywhere up to two weeks, especially if you're a new writer. You might be able to nudge the process forward with a polite DM to Laurel, the site owner ("Kitty Mama"). You won't get a reply, but you might see something happen.

In the meantime, make sure that you're story is marked as Pending, not Draft. And don't make any changes or try resubmitting it - that will just sent you all the way back to the end of the queue.

Patience, and good luck!

It's been a week, and I haven't heard from them yet.
It's happening on a few of my stories as well.
Sometimes it depends on the Trope you write as well.
Erotic coupling, incest, non consent, gets through.
Of course if we have cross checked and edited well ourselves.
Others were delayed.
Reviews and essays section... never gets through.

If you need me to check once for you you can DM me. 😊

It usually only takes a couple of days, but right now I think there;s a whole winter/xmas contest going on or something which bogs everything right down. I have a story pending for four or five days as well.

I published a story this morning and it's already set to go live in the next lot. It's 36k words long too...

Pending times is one of the things on Lit I will never be able to get my head around.

I've had one which took a few minutes, and one which took a month. Because Laurel doesn't work through all submission in the order received, there's no real knowing how long it will take.
