1) I think we're conditioned this way. We know it's not true, we hear people who receive cock say as much, but we also are in a media/porn ecosystem where "omg wow it's huge!" is a thing but there's no (outside of humiliation play, which... that'll do damage, potentially) equivalent strength of "omg it's perfect for me!" or whatever to counterbalance. Being bigger is a bragging thing (despite it being nothing to do with anything but genetics, but hey, we do this with height too), being average or smaller isn't. And, porn cocks tend to be on the larger side.

One thing that surprised me about lit was just how many women did think bigger is better. Obviously, as you said. Too big depends on each person.
