Jaguar - Another Iconic Brand Consigned to the Dustheap of Woke Fuckups

Gift card: says I gave you what you axed for.

Anything else? Says I think I know you better than you know you.

This is a good look for you, I like it!

Rolls Ghost or Phantom?

Decisions, decisions…

Let us know when you decide!

Maybe ask Beckham or Beyonce?

Diddy has one that’s likely coming to market… if you’ll deign to buy Used.

Seats are well oiled!

Lol

I almost never buy new cars. They're a horrible investment and new cars depreciate the worst.

Ha ha ha!

Still not my fault you're a broke asshole. Maybe if you spent less time on Lit, and more time making money and learning how to keep it, you'd do better financially. And with cars. And women.

Just saying.

Laff all you want, you're still going to wake up tomorrow as an asshole. Because you CHOOSE to be one.

Another case of theft by DonOld thwarted by another American company.

Looks like Jaguar is changing their advertising agency. Mind you, they should also fire thrit own management as well.

"...Accenture Song is our incumbent agency. They have been working with JLR and our House of Brands for over 4 years now and this has been a successful partnership..." - Yes. A nearly 80% drop in sales since 2019 is a very successful partnership.

Sales plunged by more than a quarter in 2024 with Jaguar selling 33,320 cars, a significant drop from the 61,661 sold in 2022 and the 161,601 sold in 2019. It reallwas a stroke of marketing genius. Pivot from your core demographic and chase one that has no interest in your product.

Personally., I thought this was what they were expecting, with their plans to abandon their existing cutomer base and build a new one. Mind you, I also thought that was one of the top rules of marketing. Iy's about 10 times harder to get a new customer than to retain an existing one. Guess they forgot that one too.

Seems their existing customer base took the message and walked away, while the "new" customer base didn't show up. And once a customer walks way, it's very hard to get them back.

Jaguar Land Rover has been under the Tata group since 2008. They are a holding company based out of Mumbai. Maybe that ad campaign was based on the Indian perception of the Brits. :p

Well, there's a lot of posts right nw about sales, but in al fairness, production of their gas-powered cars was to have ended in June. They were planning to hold a supply of their current lineup of gas-powered cars until the arrival of their next-generation electric vehicles as they shited to become an EV-only manufacturer by 2025. "The majority of our products cease production in June, but they will be on sale for a much longer time,” Jaguar North America CEO Eberhardt told R&T. "We will have a production schedule that enables us to have a continuous supply of vehicles until the new cars come. . .We're trying to time it so we have enough volume to take us through to the launch of the new product and have a clean handover."

Seriously looks like they needn't have worried about a continuous supply of vehicles until the new cars come....

This rebrand is an all or nothing thing for them, and they really have completely dumped their old base market and are betting on building a new customer base from ground zero. It's an interesting approach, especially when the EV market is in a decline and other companies are pulling back from that sort of committment.

This was Jaguar's last tweet. Why, Jaguar? Why?

It’s pretty easy to set up a solar array to provide more than 100 miles of electricity for driving every day.

That looks a right dog and mess. Some brands are/were wrapped up in national identity and shouldn’t be sold freely.

Dead end marketing.

Marketing won't change legal requirements, particularly the high mpg and emissions restrictions that lower mpg. Some carmakers are clearly done with that BS. They decided to focus on cars that don't have mpg. They didn't know that would be a short road.

Just reading back. So their plan WAS to completely abandon their established customer base and target a brand new market.

So with European sales dropped from 1961 to 49 vehicles in April, they have sucessfully achieved Phase 1 of their plan 2 months ahead of schedule- dropping 90% of their established customer base, and honestly, it does look as if they have over-achieved here. Good for them.

Now it's time for Phase 2. Build a whole new customer base in preparation for their new EV's.
  • Management expects 90% of customers to be all-new to the brand; they will be younger, urban, and they will have to be wealthier, as the next-gen Jag will be twice the price—from about $60,000 today to $120,000 or more.

Nearly all new cars now, including maybe the SUVs, have CVT. The difference of gas or electric is becoming a minor detail as all automobiles become POS models for insanely high prices.
