Hi all, two little questions:

1. Can we change our names or are we stuck with them?

2. If they can be altered, would you like to suggest ideas on what my name should be?

What I read and write focusses on female dominance over supposedly strong males, often in a physical and powerful sense. Presider made sense at first as it alludes to power but it feels dry and bureaucratic.

Does anybody have suggestions for a name that has similar allusions to power but with more allure and perhaps a hint of femininity?

My own possible idea based on one my characters being called Lucy who uses powerful legs to assert herself was “LucyLegHold” or something similar, but I don’t want people thinking I’m writing an autobiography haha

Yes. PM Laurel.

Joe.

This is just odd, asking us what your account name should be.

Okay, how about Queen? Power, femininity... maybe Joe should be Freddie. This is still an odd request, just saying.

What do you find odd about it? I was just looking to make conversation and see what ideas people might have, thought it might be fun. I wasn’t forcing anyone to contribute if they didn’t want to.

I changed my username from "Sub Joe" to "nojo" some years ago and then realised I was still a submissive, and wished I hadn't changed my name after all. So be careful when choosing your new name!

And yes, I'm still Joe, and still sub. But now I post stories under a completely different username.

I like Joe. I could vote for that says I the person with the worst Lit Chat name ever. I am also partial to Her Joe. Power her Joe Cu-joe and Nojo Power.

Is there an in-joke about the name Joe on this board haha
Presider, I have added you to my reading list. I think you might just be a very interesting and imaginative writer.

I would like to change my handle also, I’m thinking… Cujo maybe? Haha I definitely couldn’t do any worse.

Ps In Her Power is a provocative name.

It kind of reminds me of people who ask "what should I write" and "how should I write this." Half the time the person isn't really interested in writing at all, they're interested in getting other people to write what they want to read.

So yeah, me too, I also find it odd. It comes off as painfully insecure, that you would need other people to help make this decision, or, comes off as really dim witted, that you can't brainstorm anything on your own.

I'm not saying you are insecure or dim witted, I don't know you, but, that's how it comes off.

Thank you! So simple but I’m prone to overthinking and therefore never would have come up with it.
I just looked around at what I saw. Haven't changed it since.

Gun Hill Road

The tag line was supposed to be "Multiple-Unit Control," but that didn't fit. Don't ask what that means unless you really want to know. I did replace the avatar picture recently with an image that was less dark and muddy-looking.

Absolutely not. It's a throwaway name, offered to someone who can't come up with a name of their own.
I can come up with a name of my own but I thought it might be a pleasant conversation starter to engage with the community but I seem to be wrong.

I think that’s an incredibly harsh interpretation of my thread.

To me, asking to be told to write defeats the point of writing in the first place, whereas my username on the website is merely a little moniker to go by.

I thought it would be a fun conversation starter to engage with the community but instead you’ve felt the need to characterise me as insecure and dim witted.

I don’t know about imaginative, I mainly just write what I want to read, but if you enjoy femdom you may like some of it.

It's not an interpretation, it's a feeling. I did make a point of saying I'm not saying this is who and what you are. But go ahead and ignore that part, if it's convenient for you.

you’ve felt the need to characterise me as insecure and dim witted.
Not you, I don't know you. Just characterizing my own impression - not of you, I don't know you. Just, my impression of your question here.

I wasn't the only one who said it was an odd question. You did ask what was odd about it.

Can't wait to see what you write, though! No matter what name it's under.

Just remember, there's femdom, and there's femdom, ... and there's femdom.
For example, few of my stories feature much phsyical contact, only one features anything remotely connected with BDSM, but they're all femdom stories. So I suggest you use tags to identify the sub-kinks.

Thanks, the tags really help me not stress too much over people getting the wrong idea when they click to read a story, because like you say, femdom can mean many things. I don’t usually associate a man receiving oral sex as femdom related, but read a really good femdom story recently where that was only sexual act.

Using all ten tags is a must for me!
