I am a cook, but not much of a baker. But I always make these refrigerator cookies that were my mom’s specialty. They will forever remind me of my childhood, so I make them every year..

They are refrigerator cookies, and not that easy to make…

@Mrswonderer knows to leave the kitchen when I am making them. I get, how shall we say, quite directive and pissed off making them.

I am making several different kinds. Mostly from old family recipes. I have one that is dates rice crispness and coconut..... they are sooo good

I like fruit cake... what makes it Scottish?

It may be an assumption but is it soaked in alcohol?

My grandma would make fruitcake in September and then wrap in a tea towel and soak with brandy.... and keep on adding brandy..... until xmas.... my mom said was delicious

Thanks. I need to check a couple of things. I suspect the motor may be going on it.

I had one where the motor shaft/bronze bushings in the motor were starting to stick. Good cleaning, and some non detergent high quality oil got another decade out of it.
