We need to go after everyone involved in the planning of the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago. I think Merrick Garland, Jack Smith, Fani Willis, Alvin Bragg, and Letitia James all need the opportunity to convince a non-DC jury that they did not conspire to violate the civil rights of Donald Trump under color of law.

Everyone who touched any of the January 6 cases should be fired. Matthew Graves, the lead January 6 prosecutor, and his deputies, need to be arrested and put on trial, and they need to be hit with a massive personal lawsuit that the US government refuses to defend them from. The DC Jail's conditions need a federal investigation that results in firings, trials, and personal liability. Some judges in the January 6 trials, particularly those who went along with government overreach on indictments, must be impeached even if they aren't removed from office. Trump needs to have someone go back to his first term and indict everyone involved in the Russia Hoax.

Just remember, the convictions are icing on the cake. The process is the punishment. A battalion of bankrupted and unemployable DOJ lawyers and FBI agents living in refrigerator cartons under bridges across the country would provide a daily lesson to what happens when you abuse your power and try to deprive other people of their freedom and livelihoods.

"We’re going to come after the people in the media who lied about American citizens who helped Joe Biden rig presidential elections,” Patel said, referring to the 2020 presidential election in which Biden, the Democratic challenger, defeated Trump. “We’re going to come after you, whether it’s criminally or civilly. We’ll figure that out. But yeah, we’re putting you all on notice.”

Trump also announced Saturday that he would nominate Sheriff Chad Chronister, the top law enforcement officer in Hillsborough County, Florida, to serve as the administrator of the Drug Enforcement Agency. Chronister is another Florida Republican named to Trump’s administration. He has worked for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office since 1992 and became the top law enforcement officer in Hillsborough County in 2017. He also worked closely with Trump's choice for attorney general, Pam Bondi.

This is actually really, really scary stuff. EVERY freedom loving citizen, who believes in justice, or in the promise of America, ought to find this terrifying and outrageous at the same time.

This is basically a move toward totalitarianism and fascism- and it's so open, so blatant, so utterly horrific- that to not see it as such would be to betray the veterans who sacrificed their lives fighting against these type of regimes.

So, first they come for immigrants. You don't care; you're not an immigrant. Then they come for democrats. "Good! I'm not a democrat." Then they come for GLBT and trans people. Don't bother you; you're not "One of them."

But then, when they come for you- because they will; that's what always happens when governments transition to this type of system- who will be there to stand up for you? You want, so badly, for U.S. citizens to live in mortal terror of their government- just like in North Korea- but why do you assume you have nothing to fear yourself?

The economy has gotten steadily better since 2021. We are back to record low unemployment, wage increases, jobs returning to the US for the first time in decades and low inflation compared to our peers.

The Democrats haven't done damage so I'm not going to start by accepting your false narrative when the numbers don't lie. This isn't something you or I get an opinion on. Just the numbers. If Trump gets his way, which I don't believe he will, the damage done by the Republicans will take quite a while for us to recover from. 25% tariffs on all in coming good from our three biggest trade partners? That will not end well for us.

The reality is that even if we wanted to do 100% of our production in America real life isn't Sim City. The factory won't just plop down in Kentucky in February 2025 letting us produce whatever. Then there is farming. I hate to explain to you climate, you're clearly MAGA so you don't understand how the environment works but there are lots of things that we just don't have the climate to grow in the US. No amount of hard work is going to make coffee beans grow in the US at least not nearly as well as they in places like South America. That's just facts.

The oil we actually drill in the US mostly goes to other nations and the oil we use in the US mostly comes from Canada. Sure you could change the entire infrastructure which would be very expensive but remember Sim City which this isn't! Holy fuck.

Lawfare isn't a real thing. You are What you mean is holding people responsible. Something that absolutely no conservative wants. This is why Trump won't sign an Ethics Pledge.

Its first they came for the immigrants and I didn't care because I wasn't a criminal. Not first they came for the criminal insurrectionists and I didn't care because I didn't try to over throw the government.
 
And THANKYOU everyone. This thread is turning into exactly what I hoped for when I opened it. A lively discussion forum with all sorts of points of view being expressed and supported / criticized / opposed / attacked / etc etc.

In her definition, corruption is any act that opposes, or even criticizes, the questionable acts of a country's leaders, whether legal according the the laws and constitution or not.

In the Websters dictionary however, corruption is any illegal activity that goes against the constitution and laws of the country which benefits an individual at the expense of the public or the laws.

So there is a huge cognitive dissonance between her definition of Corruption and the one traditionally in use for hundreds of years.

Remember in her fucked up world, she feels that a country's leaders should have no checks and balances and have absolute unquestioned authority; anyone in the way gets "Gulag'ed." Not to belabor the point, but this is traditionally how the Soviet Union, North Korea, and her beloved Third Reich operated. Not how America should operate.
 
I don't disagree Pax but I think every single politician ever is corrupt. I'm just not super concerned that so and so got his brother out of a few parking tickets.

Instead, they support anyone who gets in Trumps way being rounded up, gestapo-style, on trumped up (pun intended) charges- and yet fail to see the irony in this.

No. You misinterpret. When they were screaming bloody murder about the corruption of Hillary, Inc. they were met with the worst sort of accusation by means of defense. So if their asshole is in charge now, why speak up?

Andrew McCabe Throws a Fit on CNN Over Trump Nomination of Kash Patel​

It's going to be hard to argue that he isn't qualified. He's an attorney who has handled many trials, and served as Chief of Staff at the Department of Defense, Deputy Director of National Intelligence, and Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the National Security Council. The anti-Trump forces and the folks on the left are already having real fits. And it isn't even January yet, when the Trump team is going to come in and truly start remaking things. The people want to get the job done, and that's why they voted for President-elect Donald Trump. This is one of those appointments that the Democrats are likely to fight tooth and nail, and the Republicans need to hold together to get it through, to uphold the mandate of the people.

Of course, we know McConnell, Collins, Murkowski and the usual suspects will vote against this out of sheer spite and a desire to sabotage and undercut Trump at every turn, so in the end this is probably going to be a recess appointment.
 
FBI brass are calling West Wing contacts and literally crying, per WH official. That’s how people that have committed treason act before they have to face the consequences
