It feels a bit bittersweet this year.
Since moving back to the PNW in 1998, I have had this day with her family and never my own.
A little over a month ago, I lost my mother. This was heavy on my mind yesterday with the work potluck.

Personally, I would have loved Mexican over the traditional Thanksgiving meal growing up. That's one thing I had in common with my mom. The traditional Thanksgiving meal was not a favorite for either of us.

It's all of 10° F here. But without all that pesky snow so far. Don't get me wrong, I am looking forward to the snow. Just not when I have to hand shovel it at my friend's house, or drive all the way home in it. Thank you Mother Nature for holding off until I am safely back at home.

In our family, it's just cold the look. New friends and family always ask, "How will I know when I get the look?" Our response is generally something along the lines of "trust us, you'll just know." The newly initiated pop up right away and agree. "When you get the look you'll definitely know it."

I think he must have cleared his whole lawn!

After a solid 30 minutes I realized "it's some a****** with a leaf blower."

I think he must have cleared his whole lawn!

Movies maybe a tiny bit. But I haven’t been to a movie theater in years. It’s a sign you’re in the over 50s Greasy Spoon and Cafe.

So I am going to try to make candied grapefruit peel..... I asked for 2 navel oranges and they sent me 2 5 lb bags of grapefruit. I dknt want to throw away.... apparently you can also freeze the sections......we will see.
