I support deporting people who are in the US illegally. Especially those that have criminal backgrounds and those who have been ordered by judges to leave.

Tarrifs rarely, if ever work. All it does is shuffle the cost down to the lowest level,IE; the buyer. Your costs will go up, but the CEOs with the golden parachutes will still be making millions no matter what happens. And NONE of that will make its way down to the workers UNLESS the workers get smart and get back to being union workers. When you have little power as an individual in a situation the only alternative is to combine the individuals into a formidable power, or take the crumbs handed out by the elite. Choose wisely.
Okay. We don't have enough labor to fill the work slots that will be vacated, so what then? I don't have a problem with forcing every illegal in the country to go through the immigration process, but the process needs to be able to handle those cases AND come to some kind of resolution on them. Deport the ones who shouldn't be here, granted. But allow the ones who are contributing to the county and economy, the ones who want a better life the choice of going through the immigration process or going home.
No, it wouldn't be. The problem with your solution is that a simplistic solution to a complex problem rarely if ever works as it is portrayed. It usually ends up screwing up the problem and making it worse rather than fixing it.
