Which well-known books/tales are deserving of an erotic makeover?

I had some wild thoughts about "The Wizard of Oz" the other day and it set me thinking as to which other well-known tales - perhaps "classics" as the public might describe them - could be given an erotic re-telling. In fairly short order, variations on things like "Pride and Prejudice", "Gulliver's Travels" and "A Christmas Carol" came to mind, along with sundry thoughts about Christie's detective stories - maybe Poirot could discover that lust and attraction sometimes provide a motive for homicide along with the usual things like greed and hatred..?

Anyone care to add their ideas? I'm sure Shakespeare wouldn't mind R&J getting an entirely different outcome... it's out of copyright, whatever!

Sadly there is a rule here that you can't age-up characters that were children in the source material. This makes me sad because I would be neck-deep in a Peter Pan saga!

So, most fairy tales are right out. So returning to the classics, Murder on the Orient Express would be obvious. The House on Haunted Hill could be spun into something sexy and silly to where the people are too busy fucking to pay the ghosts any mind. The world has been needing a porn version of Dracula for ages. Wuthering Heights, The Phantom of the Opera, the Three Musketeers, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court.

Lots of options.

Great Expectations by Dickens.

Sure, there's too the age issue... originally Pip is like 8 when he first goes to the crazy Miss Havisham's house, and that's where I envision most of perversion to happen. But there's plenty other options, and he revisits that place regularly afterwards too.

A lot of the classic fairy tales could use a Litification. I've considered creating an author account just for that. Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel, Jack and the Bean Stalk, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White.... the list goes on and on about stories just aching to be turned into pornos.

Don't even get me started on Lord of the Cock Rings!

Wasn't there some guy in the 70s who made softcore porn based on classic books?

That R&J were children by today's assessment didn't stop Shakespeare, of course.

What a good idea! All kinds of new clues could be there to interest Marple and Poirot... used condoms... pregnancy test strips... rumpled bedclothes...

Yes, great fun. I'll pitch in with HG Wells' "Time Machine". Loads of inter-epoch shenanigans to be had there. Also, I do believe a smuttier version of Cervantes' Don Quixote might be interesting.

Stephen King's Misery. Come on. Even in the real thing, she never did anything?

Gerald's Game is already there, just need to make the serial killer a little more handsy.

The Tammy'sknockers.

Firecrotchstarter.

Doctor Sleep.

The Dark Tower: My Cock.

“Zorro” is already a character that exudes romance. Just amp it up to include nudity and explicit Sex. Of course, he leaves his mask on all the time.

I have seen erotic parodies of many great literary works and even written a few. It’s a valid genre. ;)

I just adore Greek mythology. It never gets old. Last year, I read an erotic novel called Neon Gods by Katee Robert. The novel features Persephone and Hades. I love it.

I agree, but the celeb/fan fic category seems poorly traveled by readers here. My Skyrim story has been largely ignored compared to my other work.
Yeah, despite being a fanficer, I see this category kind of pointless. One, there are dedicated pages for this type of stuff (AO3 is my main platform). Second, you don't really know what is the content (like: what's the true category inside?).

For me, a way to correct it is separate Theme and Category. The latter would be largely as it is, while the Theme would be something like Realistic/Fan Fiction/Sci-fi and Fantasy/etc. But it's far in the future.

I think it would be more popular if it were separate from the celeb stories. Having to sort through the 'I 🍆 Brittney' stories to find something you'd like is tough.

I'd vote for 'Robinson Crusoe' and... maybe a Girl Saturday turning up..?

This could possibly, of course, lead to a situation where rescue is the last thing on minds...

Many of the Sherlock Holmes stories could be massaged erotically to fine enjoyments. I tried (unsuccessfully) to do a Wodehouse riff once, but one author here has done an outstanding job: Oh, Jeeves!
Did Sherlock ever have any sex or romance in his life in any of his stories? I know people speculate about he and Watson, but I'm wondering if there was ever anything explicit along those lines.

SH always came off as a bit asexual to me.

Just Irene Adler... "The Woman". There's certainly scope there.

Cervantes has already been mentioned and I'd like to put in a word for other non-English language possibilities. "Anna Karenina" is an obvious candidate, I think, as might be "Faust" or "Madame Bovary". But then, I'd be battling against the notorious Anglosphere shunning of all things "foreign", I guess.
