One of the things I enjoy about writing is when famous folk take up roles in them. Now of course this is different to Celebrity/Fan Fiction as they aren’t themselves, just playing a role.

For example, in THE PROCESS the villain role is very much Jason Sudekis in Ted Lasso, in CARRY ON CRUISING Terence is played by Robert Downey Jnr.

Are there any of your stories were you’ve secretly cast the part whilst writing your story.

With me, it's either Rock Hudson or the Thai crown prince (now king).

Isaac Newton hovers ubiquitous in the background of my only Romance tale, the words of his laws of motion providing involuntary arousal in poor lovelorn Rupert Booker.

Christ that likeness use fee must have been stratospheric.
I did a free cameo, but I insisted that we write it at the train spotters pavilion in Folkston GA. They get my appearances there as a charitable donation, they need to purchase a new picnic table.

Unless you're a soccer fan you won't appreciate the significance of Sarina Weigman turning up in Goalposts 2. She's the Dutch coach for the England Women's football team, having won the European Cup (twice) and reaching the World Cup final.
I did a decent job of encapsulating both her appearance, attitude and accent and was flattered that she agreed to play a cameo role:)

You mean, footy fan.

My characters are all cast behind the scenes with multiple actors and understudies, many of whom are people of whom I’m a fan. This includes the people with famous names. After all, such folk are impersonated by Alan Smithee and vice versa all the time. :)

The closest I've had to a celebrity show up in one of my stories was Pornville.

The basic premise is a husband and wife wake up in the fantasy world of the stories he created and are forced to live them out to get home.

The wife is particularly unhappy with one scene where she's forced to blow dozens of faceless strangers. Literally faceless, because her husband never described their looks in the story, just their cocks.

Near the end of the scene she takes control of the story and one of the last faceless men transforms into a "more than passing resemblance to Pedro Pascal" before she fucks him.

I love how sometimes they just kind of cast themselves as your feeling a story out.

When I started THE PROCESS and was looking for a villain it started off as “Villain” but in your head you right dialogue and you’re looking for someone to deliver it and their face just pops up. That’s what happened with RDJ in my latest story CARRY ON CRUISING (Oppenheimer not Iron Man).

No-one reading it could guess but it’s funny how sometimes in certain key roles, you do cast people and really it helps create the character,

Haven't seen Oppenheimer yet, it's on my list.

Will check out your story too when I get a moment. Sounds interesting for sure.

My choice of Pedro Pascal was really just a spur of the moment thing; he's basically the latest Hollywood Hot Guy and I figured my female character would take advantage of the fantasy scenario to choose a really good looking celebrity to fuck.

He wasn't REALLY Pedro, of course; she just imagined the faceless guy into looking like him.

It’s not on yet, but should be on for next week and it’s just a quick 6-parter, about 45,000 words-ish.

Let’s not forget- one of Pedro’s best roles requires that he never take off his face covering helmet unless the script allows it and even then he still has to answer to Emily Swallow for his infraction.

I think Lilith from Sabrina (played by the lovely Michelle Gomez) was an influence on Miss Shapiro in Heaven and Hole.

Though, as has been pointed out to me, I may have got the ethnicity of the name Shapiro totally wrong 😬.

I feel pretty certain if Mary sees this post, she'll tell you it's a Jewish name.

I just assumed she was Ben's aunt or something.

I must be getting old, because I recognize the names of fewer and fewer celebrities. Anyway, didn't we just have a thread like this? I used Catherine Zeta-Jones, but I named her Cynthia Delta-Yates and I had her from Sheffield, not Wales. All of the various clues made it unmistakably her.

Duleigh must remember that thread, because we drifted into the Douglas Aircraft Company (via Michael Douglas, of course). I know, that was quite an impressive thread zig-zag.

But in that case it’s sort of spelled out.

Here I’m talking about when it’s only the celebrity in your head, as a writing trick…a secret celebrity that only you know.
