Endof August and we are beginning to prepare for Fall, at least in the Northern Hemisphere. Lots of lists and too little poetry but a List Poem allows you to combine them both. As an exampleyou can look at My Essential Existential Canoe Tripping List. I've set a 5 line minimum but no maximum line length.

Today is Friday, with a long weekend coming up, this challenge will last until next Sunday midnight, your local time (honor system folks ).

The privilege, should they accept it, to start the next challenge thread, choose the title and determine conditions will be determined by a random number generator, based on the number of entries.

If you are new to this challenge series, please visit the previous installments to read or post your own poetic view on that subject. Of course, anyone can jump right in at any point. The first eight are listed below.

First, by HarryHill: Wheel Of The Year

Second, by cascadiabound:Gratitude

Third, by Mrtenant : Dancing

Fourth, greenmountaineer gave us: Outdoor Games

Fifth, Underyourspell : Superstition

sixth, Piscator : Right Place Wrong Time

seventh by cascadiabound: Road Trips

eighth HarryHill: Treehouse

I like sunshine
also rain
especially in bed
sleep's refrain.
I like thunder,
lightning too.
those loud crashes
make me oooooo!
Only in choc
do I like mint,
sauce on lamb chops
makes me squint.
I love music,
all sorts mind,
but very often
love songs I find
beckon irresistibly
because it's true,
I love them
and I love you.

A List poem to do list

Get past the first line
Make a list of stuff to do,
garden, yard, books.

Level and grade the bricks,
remember that tricky stone,
near the middle, close to the long side.
Check to see if that's a good place to start;
if so go ahead, else begin at the watershed.
Call Fred at the first coffee break;
he'll be awake by then.
Hydrate, chill,
stop thinking about the garden,
about the game.
Make this break shorter than the last,
Go 'til you can't go no mo.
Make a longer list tomorrow.

waiting for the wheel to turn
past 'broiling' into 'fall'
i've lots of lists inside my head
i'll never do it all

there's grass to cut
and weeds to oust
and squash that's needing cooking
verse to write
and things to move
from a to b (i'm looking)

there're ceilings needing painting white
a rug that's wanting binding
seeds to plant when earth is turned
and more things for the finding

windows that no longer gleam
and concrete needing laying
though that's more someone else's job
cos this time we are paying

more tape of red although in minor
and pics to print - times fine and finer
stores to visit
purchases
questions nagging
searches-is
more practice on the road, for sure
and things to bake and things to store
and things to see and things to do
and things entailing me and you

films to watch
and books to read
and songs to hear
and steps to tread
and thoughts to think
and love to make
(make no mistake)
it's not the last thing on my list
and not the first to be dismissed
but in the heat of broiling days
i'm fucked less often
i'll rephrase
he's ready, right,
and willing too
it's me, too hot, too hot, poor you

so come the cooler days of fall
the list it doesn't shrink at all
but bullet points may move about
and other items add their clout
like chopping wood
and hanging curtains
better for the nights, that's certain

things to bake and things to knit
and through it all, in all of it
the one unmentioned on the list
is most important: LOVE :kiss::kiss:

Oh shit I forgot to write my pome (yes pome).
What should I gather first?
My wits might be a good idea.
I wonder where I left them last?
Looks on Facebook (no chance there).
Looks on porn sites (various)
So where else to look?
.
Under pillows, under chairs
in the kitchen? no not there.
In the dog's bed, wasting time,
under hubby, snores sublime!!
Nope can't find them,
there's no doubt
I'm going to have to do without!

Buy Greenland

Buy Greenland
Fuck Finland, Denmark too
Fuck France Euro-style
Repatriate Britain, after Brexit no-deal
Don’t bother with Canada -already own most of it
Forget Florida – underwater in fifty years
Sell New York back to Indians if New Delhi will deal
Give California back to Mexico
Talk to China about their Great Wall
Keep Texas and Alaska
Stand on Jupiter -strike that Mars

Twisted Toons, the filthy alpine version

With apologies to Rodgers & Hammerstein -

Clovers on nipples
And bite marks on taught thighs
Razer-sharp daggers and passionate sighs
Plain paper packages the mailman brings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream-spattered blankets and bright brazen buckles
Dildos and butt plugs and hard-clenching knuckles
Hearty moans and deep sighs and tiny g strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in ripped fishnets with tear-stained lipstick
Lube drops that slip over hard throbbing prick
Shocked little cries that my sub sings
These are a few of my favorite things

When the crop bites
When the belt stings
When my Domme is mad
I simply remember my favorite things
And I'll still feel just as bad

Apples of My Eye!

Filippa, Gala, Ariane, Falstaff, Gavin - Apples,
One of which you ought to take each day
To send the doctor on his way, and fast
And make sure he keeps on going,
Because you’re not sick, you’re well
Apart from hay-fever caused by orchard flowers.

Holstein, Orkney, Dawn, and Empire flowers
Scented blooms of mellifluous names of Apples
Drinking nectar and ambrosia from the bottomless well
Blessing the earth with their beauty, day after day
Whichever way the market for them is going.
And farmers hoping their crops will sell fast.

Better than cereals to break the fast,
Perfect for pot-pourri, the dried flowers
Containers of apples, to the markets going
First in the list, A-is-for-Apples
Give me an Esopus Spitzenberg, any day.
And maybe a Lord Lambourne and a Rajka as well.

Lore says eating apples will keep you well,
Or if you’re sick, they’ll cure you fast.
I’d attest to that theory, any day
Despite my allergy to apple flowers,
There are hundreds of varieties of Apples,
Which ones you choose, depends upon where you’re going.

Eating raw, pureeing, or stewing, was what I meant by ‘going’
By the way... you can bob for apples, at festivals, as well...
But, for your teeth’s sake, steer clear of Toffee Apples
Because gone the doctor, come the dentist, and fast!
You can make a tisane from the flowers
To soothe you at the end of a tiring day.

So, you see, this fruit is useful, night and day,
It would be good to keep the tradition going,
Whether for the fruit or for the flowers,
Or for the shade the trees give, as well....
It’s good to get the word around, and fast
For mind, body and soul, the best fruits are Apples.

The well fills, and quenches the thirst of Apples,
And always their flowers turn night into day
Making times of sadness go by fast, and urge them to keep going.
