May 2154:
If there was one thing you could always expect from Klingons it was their overconfidence. Such was to be the case with the seizure of the Earth cargo transport, Gwyneth's Star, by the Klingon Bird of Prey, Bok Trigosh.
The transport was more than a light year outside of what Starfleet officially recognized as Klingon space, skirting along the border at a comfortable, unhurried, fuel saving Warp 1.1. The Klingons, of course, didn't recognize borders established by the Humans. Hell, the Klingons didn't recognize borders established by anyone but themselves. And even then, those borders were designed to keep the ships of other species out of Klingon space, as opposed to keeping their own ships within it.
So when the warship's long range detectors identified the other ship as an unarmed and likely valuable target, its Captain didn't worry for even a fraction of a moment that Starfleet might have an issue with him seizing the vessel. The Bok Trigosh changed course and intercepted the Gwyneth's Star less than 7 minutes later. The civilian transport was ordered to cut its engines and prepare to be boarded, which it did. It's four crew were ordered to be at the airlock, waiting unarmed for detainment, which they did. And its Captain, was ordered to unlock the main cargo bay to give the Klingon access to the 32 cases of dilithium their scanners had found, which Kara Soong did.
What the Klingons didn't know but could have known -- if they hadn't been so overconfident and done more extensive scans -- was that hiding all about the ship in scan resistant containers were the other 9 members of the 13 man crew. The 8 of 14 Klingons who'd boarded the Gwyneth's Star headed in pairs in four different directions: cargo, engineering, bridge, and crews quarters. And once Kara knew all 8 were where she wanted them, she grabbed the nearest heavy piece of metal and slammed it against a bulkhead three times rapidly.
The Klingons, who generally were difficult to ambush, were all on the deck dead or dying within 30 seconds of the signal heard throughout the small ship. Another 30 seconds later, the 5 of the 6 Klingons on the Bird of Prey met the same fate. The last was only injured, though critically, so that Kara could question him about his ship, his crew, his local command, and more. She was surprised to find his English better than average. She wasn't surprised, however, that he told her virtually nothing, and what he did reveal was of no real value to her strategically.
"Any last words?" she asked the restrained Klingon as she stepped forward with a blood covered dagger. She spoke a bit of Klingon, but the only words she recognized were cunt and a growled reference to dying with honor. Kara laughed loudly and pulled to her side the female cargo ship crew member who'd originally beat him to the ground and then into submission. She laughed again and challenged, "You think you're going to Sto-vo-kor after you got your ass kicked by a girl?"
The Klingon bore his teeth, growled, and opened his mouth to speak, but Kara's blade found his neck and sliced across it with force, cutting it clear to the bone. Blood sprayed out upon her, the woman beside her, the floor, and the Klingon. Kara hardly noticed it, instead turning to the others.
"Brothers! Sisters!" she hollered as she raised the dripping blade over her head. "We have our warship! Now … let's go make war!"

This is and at the same time is not a story from the universe of "Star Trek: Enterprise" (STE):
- We use STE terminology, technology, species, ships, etc.
- Sometimes, however, our versions of them are different than the original STE version.
- Where I remember to do so, I note these differences in the OOC. Please check it out at this link.
- The role play begins with an alternative version of STE's Season 4.
- Namely, the leader of the Augments is a woman, not a man. (There are other alt' differences. Again, see the OOC.)
- From that point out, the role play is a new beast.
- Fans of Khan Noonien Singh from the original series of "Star Trek" (TOS) will remember that he, too, was an Augment, though, I don't think the word "augment" was actually introduced until STE.
- TOS was a 1960s television series, as you know; Khan's reign on Earth was in TOS's future, the mid-1990s, which of course is our past. And unless I took a very long nap and missed out on all of my history classes in high school and college, Khan didn't rule over all of Asia during my past. So, for the purposes of our role play, Khan's reign occurred during the mid-2030s.
- Our role play centers around two peoples:
- The Family of Augments who -- like in STE -- steal a Klingon Bird of Prey and head off on a mission.
- A major alternative from STE's storyline is that the leader of that Family is a female.
- Another alternative is that the Father of those Augments, Arik Soong, is on the loose from Starfleet detention.
- In STE, he was imprisoned when we first met him. He'd escaped prior to this and been caught again; he would escape yet a second time and be caught yet a third time during an episode of STE, so really, our alt' version is just a matter of timing.
- And the characters who get caught up in the Augments' mission:
- These include some canon characters with original or altered lives.
- And new characters you've never heard of before.
- I am also a fan of the television series "Firefly", its story concluding movie "Serenity", and the pirate series "Black Sails". So, there will be a bit of piracy and other high jinx involved that aren't really "Star" trek in nature … or maybe might be, who know.
- Oh, and there will be sex, even though this isn't in the Sexual Role Play forum.
