Texas Legislature #1 Priority in 2024: Cracking Down On Pot

Remember back two or three years ago when you were against government intervening in YOUR personal life?
Be specific. I'm sure I wasn't referring to anything involving my activities as I am a thoroughly law-abiding citizen in good standing and I've never promoted or supported felonious conduct of any kind.

There are problems with it in CA, CO, and other states. State and local governments have gotten so dependent and greedy with taxation that black market weed is hurting licensed retailers.
A solid argument for decriminalization not legalization. In a classic American sense, what right does the government have to stop people from growing a plant?

The biggest problem is that today’s cannabis isn’t the bunk weed my generation grew up with. Young people are experiencing severe psychosis issues and addiction. Another problem is edibles are falling into the hands and mouths of children and pets.

Same with cigarettes and alcohol. Except cigs and alcohol have higher addictive rates - both physiologically and mentally.

If cigarettes and alcohol are legal, the reality is that there is no justification for pot not to be.

Since I have no personal stoning experience, I have been wondering how much does the skunk smell affect the taste in edibles. Do the brownies taste like skunk?

No, since the smells and flavor of the weed change when it is heated.

Absolutely, tobacco and alcohol take an enormous toll on society as well. Cigarette smoking has fallen off dramatically but its disturbing to see teenagers vaping flavored tobacco products. Some municipalities are banning sales of those products entirely.

History has shown us that it is unrealistic to make tobacco, alcohol, or cannabis illegal. With regard to cannabis, the best that can be done is employ tax laws that don’t invite black market participants, strictly regulate where dispensaries are located, bolster labeling disclosure, improve enforcement of THC content, promote education about the health risks, and don’t promote the industry as a vehicle for raising tax revenues and fostering racial equity.

And decriminalize in order to avoid the appearance of advocating the behavior.

Having successfully eliminated rape as we know it in Texas (by renaming it "sexual assault" legally) and essentially banning porn from adult computers, the Texas legislature has announced it's number one priority in 2024: cracking down on pot.

Specifically, Lieutenant Governor Dan "Limbaugh Junior" Patrick is seeking stiff fines and penalties for all sorts of cannabis deritatives such as CDB oil and gummies. Both are the by-product of the "Devil's Lettuce", and seeing that Marijuana is still classified as a Class 1 drug ("Most addictive"....worse than cocaine and morphine), Patrick is compelled by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to make Texas safe once again.

Oh, also, no legislation to improve the power grid will make it out of committee again this year. Profits Uber Alles, let the poor folks freeze in teh dark.
No porn in Texas?

Then why are all the Californians moving there? According to some articles I came across, Texas was saying it has the highest immigration influx of out-of-state residents seeking sanctuary relocation job changes there. Are they moving to Texas to provide real sex experiences since porn isn't on the computer table?

They're moving to Austin.
So, they are moving where the governor lives? Are you implying they have porn in Austin and the governor is somehow linked? Is that factually substantiated or just in the smokey weed mentioned in the article that's being banned as well?

Austin is the liberal epicenter of Texas. Weed, porn, hookers, etc are not hard to find there.

In MAGAtstan, 2025, drug (THC) users / peddlers will ALL be IMMEDIATELY executed after a one day trial.

That ^ is the wet-fever-dream of the orange MAGAt king: It is also, (according to the orange MAGAt king) how things are done in CHINA!!!, which is the model the orange MAGAt king wants to emulate.

🤬

JFC

SAD!!!

Texas has always been a weird place with batshit people. It may get weirder in a few centuries when Mexico shakes off the Spanish influence, becomes more like the Aztec empire it was, and reclaims Texas.

I know folks who have moved to TX in recent years. Jobs, affordable single family houses, and more room to breathe are a big draw.

improve enforcement of THC content
I is curious... What is the current legal THC content limit and what is the THC content of most of the cannabis products being sold? Does your plan include vapes, edibles, and flower?

I don’t know what legal limits apply but the gummies sold in the dispensary near my Bay Area house are labeled as 5mg and 10mg. They sell all kinds of products so I really have no idea what the THC content is, how clear it’s labeled, or how accurate labels are. Personally, I stick to smoking flowers. Cannabis is just a sleep aid for me. When I’m having a restless night trying to fall asleep, a couple of hits of the high potency weed produced these days will put me in the fetal position within minutes. Edibles can take an hour or more to digest and kick in.

You could have saved a lot of bullshit by just saying you didn't have a clue what you meant about THC content enforcement.

The Aztecs are long dead. Their slave peoples live on, like those of the Maya. Both groups allied with the Spanish against their aristocracy.

The character of the land remains, like American freedom while the Native Americans are mostly gone.
