When I first came here I was really scared of sending an unsolicited PM. It seemed almost...rude??

Even now I am polite and apologise for sending a PM off to someone. I would like to join your merry band and add it to my sig.

I always reply to PMs in a polite and respectful manner... And I can be porny with the best if they deserve it!

Like it was stated, if you get yourself out there and interact and people see that they might have things in common with you, they will reach out.

I personally think it's great for those who want to link to someone instantly sending them a PM. I prefer the link to this thread personally, but I think other people will like yours as an option 3.

I can! The code to put the shield with the link to your own PM is:

You need to replace the "######" with your own user ID number, not your name. You can find out what it is by just hovering over your name next to a post you've made, it'll show something like "http://forum.literotica.com/member.php?u=1098384" along the bottom of your browser. Or you could just right-click and copy link address. The last numbers are your user ID (Don't use the numbers here, that'st he AmPic Moderator's number)

Voila. A fun little shield in your signature that is a click-to-pm. At least I think that's what it does.

Looks like I left some junk in the HTML code, I've fixed it now, but you'll need to edit it to remove the

around your user number to properly receive PMs. Or just copy the new code. Should be good now, although I'm not sure posting first thing in the morning makes my HTML any more accurate than posting it in the middle of the night...

Thought it would be worth letting you all know. Got my first pm from someone all thanks to the team pm logo.

Obviously my stories, thread posts also helped but the little logo meant they were happy to send me a pm.

Yeah, HTML can be a tricky one. The tagging relationship is not a terribly tough one, but putting it all together into a page is a bit dizzying to me. One of the snags is that it behaves differently from programming languages, so prior knowledge doesn't necessarily mean familiarity.
