There is this silly little goofy song with a catchy tune that has been bugging me. I have most of the lyrics transcribed, but there are a few I can't pick out. I can't find them on the web anywhere either.
I'll paste what i have below, but it isn't complete as there are sections missing. I believe the singer is Indian and she has a British accent that I find makes it hard to pick out some of the words.
The song is "Ladri Di Biciclette" sung by Amanda Homi
What I have so far is:
Michael was here from Germany
crashing at my little pad for free
.... through my way
a lovely gesture on his last day
he grabbed my bike and rode away
to the corner of 12th and Broadway
he paid the guy and headed outside
where oh where was my good friend's ride
Ladri Di Biciclette
you never know what they might do
Doctor and nurse, hold on to your purse
cuz they're after your bicycle too
Ladri Di Biciclette
they'd rather you go home alone
without transportation
it's no consolation
that you're not very far from home
Ladri Di Biciclette
they'd rather you go home alone
without those wheels, I felt so sussed
I told my friend of my bad luck
generously he offered to me a bike he had setting at home for free
so I rode home on my new ...
with the basket in front of the handlebars
I chained it twice to the bicycle rack my building had around in the back
when two days later my bike was gone
look what those ... rouges had done
I searched all night I searched all day
thsoe bicycle theives they got away
Ladri Di Biciclette
yiou neve know who they might be
your sister, your brother
your prime minister, your mother
the resistable father of those three
Ladri Di Biciclette
are the ones with the best alibi
the pope, the preacher
or the rabbi or the teacher
or the lawyer ort the lover with the deep green eyes
Ladri Di Biciclette
are the ones with the best alibi
with the passing of another year
.... and the hopes it would reapper,
it seemed my bike was back
battered and beaten it looked so whacked
two weeks in teh shop to fix her up
... clear around the block
my father was first ....
when I cam to take my bike away
found a note that said thanks for the work you did
I guess I owe you a couple of quid
how nice of you to fix my bike for free
but now you have .... my luck for me
Ladri Di Biciclette
beware ... spoil your pride
I would never have thought I could be caught as I took my new bike for a ride
Ladri Di Biciclette
you never who might they buy for
the ones you respect you would never expect
they're the bicycle theives lying in a store
Ladri Di Biciclette
you never know when you might fall
hey you wherever you are you bicycle thieves have gone too far
you can take my bike, my tools , my cup
you can steal my words and my guitar
my ... will drive you mad
my ... will drive you mad
If anybody cares to try to fill the rest in, great.
