I am looking for a Loving Wife story concerning a wife who cheats a couple of times a year with her former boyfriend from High School at work related trips. When caught by her husband they attend a Counsellor in an attempt to avoid the divorce the husband seeks.
At the therapy meetings the wife steadfastly says she has never taken anything away from her husband or their marriage with her cheating, she is resolute in saying she has done nothing wrong refusing to apologise.
During subsequent sessions it is discovered the wife promised herself to her boyfriend but when the tryst was meant to happen she was sick and the boyfriend extracted from her a willing promise to a debt to be repaid in the future sometime.
The boyfriend had told the wife he was in a sexless and loveless marriage and requested she fulfill her debt to repay him, and so their odd affair began.
Give the wife’s attitude to loyalty in repaying her debt and her saying her actions were outside their marriage and that she in fulfilling her debt had taken nothing from her husband the therapy was at an impasse.
The husband then contacts the boyfriends wife and finds out that the boyfriend had lied to the cheating wife about his home and sexlife, he had manipulated her through her commitment to keep her promises no matter what.
The husband arranges a phone call from the wife of her lover during therapy where the wife discusses the affair with her cheating husband and he blames his cheating partner saying she pursued him, and forced him into the relationship, a lie.
The cheating wife realises how she has been used and also realises the wrongs she has done to her husband and apologises for her stupidity and begs forgiveness.
The Therapist engineers a reconciliation and the two save their marriage.
Years pass and a similar situation arises for the husband and he cheats on his wife with a lonely woman he meets weekly at a bar watching football.
Again they go back to the same therapist and this time it is the husband who uses the same words back to his wife that she used to him to defend her cheating. That is, he took nothing away from her or their marriage with his assignations. The irony is not lost on the wife and the therapist. They realise the husband had held a grudge regarding his wife’s actions through the years after the reconciliation. It was a get square.
Again they go through therapy and are again reconciled and the story ends happily.
Anyone remember the name of this story and the author?
Please help?
