This is a little "Would you rather" ish, actually it's exactly "Would you rather" but I think one's answer tells a lot of who you are. Would you rather be drop into the middle of a densely populated city, one that you have never been before and where you don't know a single soul OR de dropped out in the middle of the wilderness, all alone?

Duration is the same and no harm will come to you at either spot.

For me, I enjoy both but put me out in the wilderness, let me enjoy nature's beauty. I'll come back to the city soon enough.......

If I know it is temporary and the duration is relatively short, I wouldn't mind being dropped off in a big city. It would be fun to see how the other half lives for a while.

Even so, my preference would be the wilderness. My soul belongs there.

Strolls in a little late, I needed more night , and maybe even more sleep.

So here's some Lit related questions. Maybe there are official numbers, maybe not but I'm curious to know a few things:

1) how many discrete Lit users are there in any given month. Not just here on the boards but in the stories and all the little hideouts people tend to congregate.

2) what percent of Board traffic is in PM vs out in the threads

3) would you still come to Lit if the PM function got turned off

Quiet days and quiet nights leave plenty of time for contemplation. What are your current contemplations? Are you one that finds help in "thinking out loud" gathering opinions from many or are you one to internalize and not seek counsel from others?

I have a few trusted friends who I discuss things with. It does help, sometimes, to hear yourself voice a concern. But usually I trust my own instincts. And there are some things you just need to figure out on your own.

I am an internalize kind of girl.

I have learned that I usually need to talk myself through things a few times to gain some perspective. If I do talk it out with someone, I generally have my mind made up already. So then I'm just looking for someone to confirm my brilliance. ;)

Current thoughts stirring at the moment:

Can oatmeal cookies still be healthier that chocolate chip when there are toffee bits and coconut added? I'll cut back on the sugar.

60 acres in Colorado, $750K and three cabins on the property. Oh I'd love to own this property. Could be a business investment. I'm trying to convince Mr. of this brilliant idea.

I missed parent teacher conferences yesterday and debating if I should reschedule for Friday or Tuesday.

So many different options for flooding, I'm so tired of carpet. Now what color? And I'd love for it go at an angle, but there's a lot of waste- is it worth it?

I'd really like to smuggle home a Kuala bear from Australia. Not sure exactly how I'm going to accomplish this. Or where I'm gonna find eucalyptus leaves. I could start growing some now, I have a few months yet. I wonder if it will get along with my cat. Also, how long they'll keep me in the pokey if I'm caught. Will Mr and the kids just leave me?!

I got a new leather collar, do you really need a leash? I'm not getting lead around the house or bedroom. Maybe a short one with a leather strap? The nipple clamps that came with it are worthless, and plus I already have a pair. I could use the chain from the clamps and some scrap leather and make my own leash. I'll have to ask Mr. if we still have a leather punch in the garage.

There is a huge garden spider that is camped out on the corner of the garage. It's fricken huge. I'm trying to figure out how to relocate her. But maybe I should just suck it up and let her stay. She's really pretty, black and yellow and the typical eight legs.

I mill everything over in my head first before I share it. Sometimes I want input, sometimes not. I'll still share with hubby so he feels like he has a say in the matter. I'm sweet like that. :rose:

I love what's going on in your head. Yes indeed.

I agree with Amal, this is a lovely view into your mind. Into your lovely mind, even! I share your thoughts on spiders - I like them to be tenderly released unharmed into the wild. By someone else, though :) Have you thought of matching leather cuffs for the end of your chain(s)? Oh, and get that koala tested for chlamydia before you stuff it in your carry on ;)

My current contemplation is whether to cycle out to a country pub for lunch, or just stay in bed all day. It's raining just now. That may influence my further contemplations on the matter

Usually when my alarm clock goes off. ;)

What kind of "it's time" are we talking bout here?

What he said.

I'm going to assume you mean big decisions, or those "last straw" moments. Usually for me it's something small, that just pushes me over the edge and makes me see things with crystal clarity.

Run, clever boy, run.

There's a reason for the tears (and they're not always mine). :D

I can tame you, oh large breasted one. It's a mix passed down from generation to generation. It's a combination of chocolate, Mydol and semen (mine). It makes you forget about what ails you.

Nope. You're using the wrong thing to treat it. Fuck Midol. You need those good vibes from some the South Korean version of 1Direction.

But hey, if you want to be crampy and cry at every Kleenex commercial that comes on for one week out of the month, be my guest.

Every one of those boys (and I stress the word boy) is prettier than I am.

*sigh* If Little Sister was here she could provide a link to a gif of them all getting it on.

A/B testing, it's the way of our world. Marketers live by it, we always compare ourselves to others in that way. Me vs them. But even though we usually feel that we don't measure up, why is it that we constantly surround ourselves with people that are smarter, prettier, taller, faster, XXXXXer.....

Are we hoping we rise up or are we just hoping we appear to be more than we are?

I don't know why people are ignoring you and treating you like you're a syphilitic skunk. I, for one, won't be ignoring your question. I know you have missed me from the top of your head to the tip of your dick.

I only surround myself with people I like. I don't surround myself with people "better" or "worse" than me by choice. Basically, I just like to be around people I like. Maybe some of them are better than me. Maybe some are less classy and use metal spoons for their caviar. It doesn't matter to me. If I like you, I like you. I rarely have someone I am around that makes me feel inadequate. I do my best to not compare myself to others. There's always someone smarter, richer, prettier, kinder, more well endowed, etc.

While I may seem a bit absurd on here and a bit over the top, I actually try to portray myself in private as the person I am, not who I would like to be. Maybe it doesn't always come off that way. Maybe I sometimes unintentionally play someone or something else. I've certainly been guilty of not showing everything up front, but I feel that's more of a safe guard, not trying to be someone else.

That's interesting.
I'd have thought people would have been more likely to surround themselves with similar minded people.
Maybe it depends on personality type.
