Obamacare guaranteed access to health care in general (with government subsidies in states that opted to expand Medicaid). No "lifetime caps" "pre-existing conditions" or other roadblocks. Obamacare evened the field and set minimum standards of coverage.

Your personal experience is nothing but anectodal evidence. The average wait time for a Kanuckistani to see a doctor, a specialist, and eventual surgery is 20 weeks. Five months. For neurosurgery it's 46 weeks. You could get sick and die several times over before seeing one.

Those numbers suck balls. What good is "free" healthcare if you croak before getting to use it?

If given free rein IMO Obamacare would have been far more inclusive. The resistance by the GoP watered it down. Partisanship means not consensus but watered down legislation. Even Obamacare is far from perfect. But still better than anything a GoP run congress, senate and WH can come up with. He had to use the nuclear option just to ram through a watered down piece of legislation.
