If you won't come to me there...

for tonight... for making me feel... more than loved... so much more that there is no exact word to say it...

Variations on the Word "Sleep"

I would like to watch you sleeping,
which may not happen.
I would like to watch you,
sleeping. I would like to sleep
with you, to enter
your sleep as its smooth dark wave
slides over my head

and walk with you through that lucent
wavering forest of bluegreen leaves
with its watery sun & three moons
towards the cave where you must descend,
towards your worst fear

I would like to give you the silver
branch, the small white flower, the one
word that will protect you
from the grief at the center
of your dream, from the grief
at the center. I would like to follow
you up the long stairway
again & become
the boat that would row you back
carefully, a flame
in two cupped hands
to where your body lies
beside me, and you enter
it as easily as breathing in

I would like to be the air
that inhabits you for a moment
only. I would like to be that unnoticed
& that necessary.

I had saved this to post to you our our second wedding anniversary this May... but I think I really want you to see it, now... I found this the other night... and it just... fit.

I love you with every ounce of my being. I feel so lucky to have you in my life. I thank you for everything you have done for me... and continue to do for me.

I love you.

To My Dear and Loving Husband

by Anne Bradstreet

If ever two were one, then surely we.
If ever man were lov'd by wife, then thee;
If ever wife was happy in a man, Compare with me ye women if you can.
I prize thy love more then whole Mines of gold,
Or all the riches that the East doth hold.
My love is such that Rivers cannot quench,
Nor ought but love from thee, give recompence.
Thy love is such I can no way repay,
The heavens reward thee manifold I pray.
Then while we live, in love let's so persever,
That when we live no more, we may live ever.

I love you too honey.

I'm sorry when we have issues. This thread always makes me happy, though, when you post here afterwards. This was a very nice post :heart::heart::heart::heart:

Thank you.

I have that... full to the brim with love for you feeling right now...

I Will Be Here

If in the morning when you wake,
If the sun does not appear,
I will be here.
If in the dark we lose sight of love,
Hold my hand and have no fear,
I will be here.

I will be here,
When you feel like being quiet,
When you need to speak your mind
I will listen.
Through the winning, losing,
and trying we'll be together,
And I will be here.
If in the morning when you wake,
If the future is unclear,
I will be here.
As sure as seasons were made for change,
Our lifetimes were made for years,
I will be here.

I will be here,
And you can cry on my shoulder,
When the mirror tells us we're older.
I will hold you,
to watch you grow in beauty,
And tell you all the things you are to me.
We'll be together and I will be here.
I will be true to the promises I've made,
To you and to the one who gave you to me.
I will be here.

~Steven Curtis Chapman

Your soul is like the vastest sea
And mine a darting fish:
I lose myself within your love;
I live within your heart.

I breathe your love: it is my air,
My element, my world.
I know no other ambiance;
I have no other dream.

I know there is outside your love
A world of rocks and sand;
And I could live there, too, but oh!
How poor and thin each breath!

How rich my world, how beautiful,
Alive within your love,
Each moment filled with dancing light
Refracted through your eyes!

Well, as most of you know, tomorrow is cinco de mayo. A celebration of mexican heritage.

Cinco de mayo is something totally different here in our household.

I met daiseelady for the first time on May 5th, 2004, after talking with her here on the HI Michigan thread. I expected nothing from her. She expected nothing from me.

It turned into so much more. We moved our relationship further and further from what we both thought it was and would be. She helped me in so many immeasurable ways, and soon we were inseparable.

Several years ago, I queued up Sigur Ros, an icelandic postrock band to play. Nothing was meant to happen during the playing of the music, and again nothing was expected - it was just a normal day. Like most other things in our relationship however, things just happened on their own. During this song, "Untitled 4 (Njósnavélin)", I asked her to marry me:

This song still bring a well of emotions to the surface for me to this day. I very much mark events in my life with the music I am listening to at the time. This song forever feels like love to me.

We got married on May 5th 2006, the anniversary of our meeting date.

After the wedding, we chose a more normal song to play for 'our' song:

Thank you, daiseelady, for taking me as I am. I'm very flawed in so many ways that I often don't feel like I deserve you. You've brought me family, love, caring, and so much joy that a simple post like this can't begin to describe it. I am by far a better man having known and loved you. I continue to love you with all my heart, and you mean the world to me.

This was love at first sight, love everlasting: a feeling unknown, unhoped for, unexpected--in so far as it could be a matter of conscious awareness; it took entire possession of him, and he understood, with joyous amazement, that this was for life.
