How important are characters' names to you?

I actually have one story involving two unnamed characters. The story is short (5k) and the characters are purposely unnamed to maintain an air of mystery. For whatever it might be worth, it is my only red H. (shrug)

From my smallest of ganders, it seems like a good read, and the idea of mystery is married to the story so namelessness works well (tips hat)

My general rule with names is, if I don't already have a name from the ether, to choose a year of birth for the character then search the most popular boys'/girls' names for that year and choose from the list. Bless you, internet!
