With the 2022 midterms steadily approaching, leftists throughout the political and corporate media spheres are already preparing to blame any and all future rising inflation on Republicans should Democrats lose control of Congress.

During an event in Los Angeles on Thursday, President Joe Biden began to lay the groundwork for this new strategy. While attempting to talk up a previously passed infrastructure package, the Democrat president claimed that “if Republicans win” control of Congress next month, “inflation is going to get worse. It’s that simple.”

According to a new report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, yearly inflation ending in September is up to 8.2 percent, while “[c]ore inflation, which factors out energy and food prices, rose to 6.6%, the highest mark since 1982.” Since Biden took office in January of last year, the prices of everyday commodities, from food to gasoline and energy, have all skyrocketed to levels not seen in decades.

Taking their messaging cues from Biden, the country’s corporate media and political elites throughout Washington, D.C., have adopted the administration’s new tactic and are forecasting an even worse economy under a GOP-controlled Congress. During a recent segment on MSNBC, network host Chris Hayes said he feels “confident in predicting” that “if Republicans win control of one or both houses of Congress [this fall], they will do everything in their power to sabotage the economy to best set them up to retake the White House in 2024.”

Rightguide always wants to blame everything from his erectile dysfunction to his male pattern baldness on Biden but as I've said before; the cause of inflation go way beyond what one president, or one congress, have done.

Lockdowns cause a drop in production of goods, creating scarcity. Then suddenly, lockdowns end, everyone wants to buy things, but there isn't enough to buy, so demand and supply force prices up. Whose fault was this? China. Okay, not entirely, but They were the ones who shut down the factories.

What didn't help, was free money. The government, under BOTH the current and previous administrations, handed out free money to everyone to stimulate the economy, but it backfired; more money circulating, with less to buy, meant companies could get away with charging more because everyone wanted in on the action. Whose fault was this? Trump...and Biden.

Then gasoline prices went up. Oil companies in 2020, at Trump's urging, raised their prices to combat a free-fall in demand. Demand fell further as lockdowns commenced and there were fewer cars on the road. So oil companies, in order to remain profitable, raised their prices to conpensate for the drop in demand in early/mid 2020. Prices remained high because, well, oil companies liked their record profit. Whose fault was this? Partly Trump, partly Russia too, (who cut off oil/gas exports after the Ukraine invasion) but mainly OPEC. The Keystone pipeline project halt has often been mentioned as a factor but this would have had only a negligable effect on actual oil prices as much of it was shipped from overseas anyway.

But to Rightguide, it's always easy and convenient...just blame it all on Biden. Whatever works for him.
