Female body hair trends

This isn't about pubic hair but visible body hair that could be bared in public-mainly trends in women sporting pit and/or leg hair.

After the 60s/70s when many women such as the hippy & later feminist movements, eschewed any hair removal.

Probably after this visible body hair, other than possibly arms (though some removed this too) on women virtually disappeared from public view with hair shaved, plucked, waxed, etc.

In the last decade or so there has been a small movement of women trying to normalise female body hair, very much assisted by the advent of social media and rightly arguing that to remove or not their hair should be a personal choice, though there is no doubt still strong societal pressures for women to conform to be smooth & hairless.

Quite a few celebrities have in recent years been photographed with in particular pit hair which has helped to "normalise" it. For the first time in the last couple of years razor brands, notably Billie, are using women with actual stubble or hair to shave in their ads. In the old days we had ridiculous images of women shaving already hairless skin, which always seemed bizarre to me, but even the slightest stubble was taboo. Now they are saying remove hair when or where you want but go hairy too if that is your preference.

Instagram, You Tube, etc are awash with young women sporting hairy legs & pits, so to some degree making it more normal.

It was never going to be mainstream but certainly more women, especially younger ones, seem more comfortable with having body hair. The various lockdowns around the world, with salons closed & no socialising , probably encouraged more women to experiment with growing out the hair they had always removed?

As somebody who has always loved seeing a woman in her full natural state, I do wonder whether the hairy movement has peaked?

Though there are still plenty proudly flaunting their fur on the likes of Instagram, I get a feeling the number is slowly falling. A couple of women who spent some time doing media promoting female body hair started removing their pit & leg hair. Also quite a few others retained their pit hair but started shaving their legs again. Whether this is a real trend or just a few individuals changing their grooming habits it's hard to tell, but curious if anyone here has noticed any trends one way or another-if not themselves, maybe family, friends, neighbours, etc.

I'm sure if there were less negativity more women would choose to go natural but are afraid of being judged.
I'm a woman and I prefer to shave my legs and underarms. I used to wax my pussy hair but stupid covid put an end to that, but I'll still shave my bikini line and maybe do a brazilian. I did it whether I was with someone or not because it's what I prefer and like, and has nothing to do with how people see bodyhair or because of shame because I honestly don't care what people think.

I dated a woman who wanted me to grow my leg and pit hair. I said no because I don't like it. I like the feeling of smooth skin. She said I wasn't feminine and I said that I don't care, it's my body and it's feminine to do what I, as a woman, want to do with my body. We broke up over it. The same with an ex Dom of mine: he wanted me not to shave my legs but I didn't like it.

I don't shave my legs and bikini all the time, tho. Maybe once a week. My pits are shaved every other day

I don't care what my partner does as long as they are clean, but I shave because it's what I want. That's where I draw the line in giving control to my body.

For those who appreciate the niche fetish of hairy women you may (hopefully!) might like my latest story just published here:

"Museum romance gets hairy"

Always happy to have constructive comments on what/didn't gel for you if you are into body hair on women.

I keep my legs and my armpits clean shaven, and will continue to do so. Hair poking through or matted down under sheer hosiery is not an attractive sight to me. Also, guys at the gym who have underarm hair poking out when their arms are down is also not an attractive sight. It's an immediate turn off. And I will be glad when this facial hair trend goes away. I've never met a guy who looked better with facial hair than without.

"Natural" does not always mean better. Body odor is natural, but left unchecked, it's certainly not better!
My sister refuses to date men who will not shave their underarms. She mostly dates models, so... 😂 😂

Weird-never heard of that before, but whatever tickles your fancy.

Here in London we've had for us an exceptionally hot, very dry summer, so plenty of skin on show. Don't often get to see the pits going about daily business along the streets & on public transport, but have been pleased to see quite a few young women (they are usually those under 30) with hairy legs, some very noticeable, some more subtle, but great to see. A small minority overall but just a few years back hardly saw any at all. I think social media has made some women more comfortable in their own bodies.

No issues if many wish to continue with hair removal but good to see acceptance of those who are happy to be natural & hairy. No shortage of people who find this an attractive trait.

I stopped shaving when I had COVID last month. (I'm better now except for a lingering cough.) I barely had enough energy to wash my hair, forget about shaving.

So I've decided to say "fuck it" and leave my armpits natural.
I'm sorry to hear that you had COVID 19! That's awful. I most likely had it back in March 2020. I couldn't smell a thing for a long time.

I hope your cough has gone, mine lasted a few weeks too. And yes the energy, so washed out.
Anyway, 'down' to business. What about your pussy? Did you say 'fuck it' to puss too? Is the thatch thickening? Yours in expectation...
LOL on the the important stuff! My bush has been natural for years. I’ll still trim around the edges if I ever wear a swimsuit again. I don’t think “bush poking out the leg holes of your bikini” is a good look. And I’m still shaving my legs.

My cough is better now, thanks for asking.

Love the natural look, really would like to lick and sniff sweaty unwashed pit hair 😉😍

Both of us are smooth from the eyebrows down, except for matching landing strips

Would disagree- bush sticking out of a swim suit is an incredibly hot look. Certainly one that excites many guys. Appreciate many women do it because they don't like the attention. Each to their own though.

I prefer to go down on a woman whose shaved. (Prevents gagging) But I do enjoy seeing a really hairy pussy from time to time.
I dated a woman years ago that had so much pubic hair it looked like wall to wall black carpeting.
I did gag A LOT!!!!!!!!

I love it when it's a full dense bush, covering everything so you can't even see her slit because of all the hair. Just one big, dense triangle of hair.

Yes, when going down on such a hairy woman you'll get hairs in your mouth, sometimes even a loose hair. But I don't mind that. I like a bit of a challenge. I prefer a hairy pussy over a shaved one.

If my girlfriend buys new swimwear, she always takes care of it that it will cover all of her bush. I can recall the time that she was shopping for a bikini and that there were four different types of bikini bottoms, but after trying all of them in the fitting room, there wasn't much choice for her as only one of them was wide enough to cover the whole bush. It's not allowed, but she usually tries bikini bottoms or bathing suits without underwear, so she knows for sure if it can cover everything. She says she prefers that instead of being forced to shave her bikini line before going to the beach or pool. Bush sticking out is not an option for her, she doesn't feel comfortable with that if others might be able to see it.

With underwear and lingerie, she is less critical. The only other person who gets to see it is me, so if some hair is peeking out at the sides, she can't care. She just buys whatever she likes and sometimes it doesn't cover all of it.

What about non-vellus (androgenic) facial hair? Leave that upper lip alone, and rock a bristly, bushy 'stache?

I haven't noticed any new trend in this regard. Whether you believe it's social conformity or purely personal preference to go hairless from the nose to the upper lip and on the chin, it's a rare woman who doesn't remove or at least bleach thick, dark hair there, if prominent facial hair is part of her genetic heritage.

It runs in my family, and I know of only one close female relative after my grandparents' generation who left it completely alone from its appearance at about age 6 and fully into adulthood.
I don't have strong opinions on this but undoubtedly the most "tricky" hair for woman to go with. Bearded women aren't for me but there's certainly a few on Instagram if you care to look for them or on You Tube. There's a hairy women porn site called Naughty Natural & at least two of their regular models have a fair amount of facial hair, so must be fans for it.

I love hair on the body-pubes, pits, the limbs & tummy. I've seen women with a lot of chest hair on-line, but I find it difficult to appreciate that, but admire women who feel brave enough to keep it.

For those that enjoy stories featuring hairy women my latest story in this theme has just be published here:
