Hi, I’ve been trying to find a particular story for some time but I cannot remember the name.
It was a story that was pretty futuristic and it was set on another planet that humans colonised. There was conflict and humans were separated with a capital/city centre with weapons and technology and on the outside were villages that would produce different things based on their speciality. The villagers were originally descended from people who were kicked out due to food shortage, but managed to survive. There was inequality where the capital/city centre was rich and the villages had to provide for them, because the seeds of food that were given to them were special and could not be reproduced. The female mc meets the male mc when they were young and not yet of age in the library in the city. She was not actually allowed there and almost got caught by the cameras. She was there to treat her foot that needed medical attention from the capital/city centre. He told her how to get the treatment and to avoid the cameras. They meet and got charmed by the other but then she left. They meet again after a few years for some kind of ceremony where the villages send in young girls to use for breeding and boys to fight each other and the ones who one could get privileges for their villages. The mother of the male mc was also part of the girls used for breeding. The half brother of the male mc wanted to claim the female mc as well but male mc had some kind of special position as warden or some other name for it where he basically tortures/kills people. He also has a reputation for kinky sex and women looked for him if they wanted something darker and exciting with his brooding dark aura. The male mc was able to claim the female mc as his own and that was the first time he ever did that. He has to be careful not too show too much attention because his father was the mayor who killed his mother and did not want him too have any kind of emotion or attachment. He did not see him as his own son but more as tool and he constantly monitored him so he would turn out how he wanted. Somebody without emotions and complete obedience used to torture/kill people. There were cameras installed everywhere in his house and he had to be careful with the female mc because of that. They had sex a few times with her restrained to the wall with the special devices in the collar that the villagers had to wear. She remembers him and was still infatuated with him even when she knew who he was. He kept his distance but she kept trying to get closer. There was also a visit from an ex lover and she became jealous. He wanted to teach her a lesson so she could learn more restraint but he couldn’t do it. There was also some questioning from his brother and father. He had to show in some kind of way that she belonged to him as a property and that he did not care. They had sex on the balcony I think where others watched. There was a room in the house without cameras where they act more freely, but not constantly visit so not to arouse suspicion. He was also planning a kind of rebellion or revolt where he would help the villages. And somewhere in the story he met her father in the torture chamber and he showed his plans secretly and he also saved other villagers before that. At the climax of the story something happened that would require him to punish her in public or move up his plan and he could not hurt her so he moved up his plan. Most people in the capital/ city centre where also illiterate for some reason and the villagers had long been planning a revolt with the stories that were passed down from their ancestors. They finally managed to create seeds that could reproduce on its own so they did not have to rely on the capital/city centre anymore. The male mc helped them revolt and before that he helped female mc escape through some route used for transporting something outside. He managed to kill his father and the villagers at first distrusted him but he saved them and managed to prove his loyalties. The people inside capital/city centre were not all killed but instead locked up inside the wall that would open automatically after a hundred years. Their fate was unknown but they were all illiterate with no real skills and no way to get more food unless they made on their own. He was later judged by the council of village heads on what his fate would be. He did not expect to survive because even though he helped them, he also tortured/killed a lot of people and had a bad reputation due to the position given to him. But the father of the female mc stood up for him and others came forward with how he saved the villagers instead. He was allowed to go free and be part of the village from his maternal side. He met his maternal family after he went to the villages and stayed with them for a while before going off on his own.
